The Speculoos Cookie Butter Latte features espresso swirled with milk, hints of spiced shortbread cookie notes, ginger and warm spices.
You can get it hot, iced or as an Ice Blended drink at participating locations for a limited-time through January 6, 2019.
The coffee chain is also welcoming back seasonal fan-favorites, including:
- Winter Dream Tea Latte: Black tea, rooibos, sweet spices and vanilla. Available hot and ice blended.
- Peppermint Mocha Latte: Chocolate and peppermint flavor notes. Available hot, iced, ice blended.
- Peppermint Vanilla Cold Brew Latte: Sweet vanilla and peppermint syrups combined with the chains Cold Brew Available with Cold Brew or Nitro Cold Brew at select locations.
- Red Velvet Cocoa: Sweet cream blended with smooth cocoa. Available hot or ice blended.
Additionally, beginning November 5 and running through November 8, participating locations will be hosting an open house, where small cups of Speculoos Cookie Butter Latte, Winter Dream Tea Latte, Peppermint Mocha Latte and Red Velvet Cocoa will be priced at $2, from 2 p.m. to close.

The other day on Instagram, I posted this picture and said, I am officially giving up The One Ingredient Diet in favor of The Cookie Butter Diet. I was joking, of course, but here we are: 3 days later and cookie butter has already nudged its way onto One Ingredient Chef. Maybe I wasnt joking
What is cookie butter, you ask? Trader Joes carries a product which is basically Speculoos cookies and sugars and oils blended together like peanut butter. Like a good disciple of The One Ingredient Diet, I always passed it up. But last week, I finally caved and bought a jar. It was a mistake. I quickly learned that cookie butter is the most obnoxiously delicious food that has ever crossed my lips.
At this point, I am considering a move to Australia just so I can get away from Trader Joes and permanently cut myself off from this delectable spread which may quickly become an uncontrollable and very anti-one-ingredient addiction.
The real problem, however, came when I discovered that this stuff melts perfectly in hot liquid. A lightbulb went off in my head: why not combine the new addiction with my old addiction to create the most marvelous latte the world has ever seen?
It worked even better than I expected.

What Not To Do
First things first avoid the clump
So the first time I made it, the cookie butter mixture was super thick and it kinda clumped down at the bottom of my coffee mug. Yuck. The first thing Ill tell you is that I didnt measure my milk. MEASURE YOUR MILK. Swanky coffee making is like baking you need to measure everything. Youre up against some very strong flavors that can easily overpower your cup. The clumping happens because the coffee was not at the same temperature as the milk.
So make your coffee hot. Like fresh brewed. Its better to have your milk sit for a bit than to have your coffee sit. Then when you pour the milk mixture into the coffee it will instantly get it back to melting status.
I adjusted the recipe to reflect this and have since found that its better to melt the cookie butter at the bottom of the coffee once its brewed. And really, its much easier to make it that way. Then youll just pour your milk into your mug and youre done.

1. Order a Chai Latte with Oat Milk2. Add 3 pumps of brown sugar syrup3. Add 2 pump of chai4. Add one shot of blonde espresso
The version going around has just 2 pumps of brown sugar and 1 pump of chai, but I dont think thats enough. To really make it taste like the spread, you need a little more of the spice and sweetness.
