There is quite a bit of history behind this coffee shop since 1960. Harry J. Rudolph was an avid baseball fan in New York and became a batboy for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He moved to Los Angeles, California to follow his beloved team spending a couple of years there. After finding La Jolla, Harry was inspired by the coffee shops and diners in Brooklyn and was determined to create something of his own with his wife.

The two of them opened a restaurant but doing so, Harry was on his second cup of coffee by 5:00 A.M. The coffee is brewing daily before the sun rises and Harry always knew the names of the regulars there at the restaurant.

The shop continues to serve American classics and stays busy year-round.

Coffee Shops In La Jolla San Diego

Coffee shops in La Jolla San Diego are as fun and diverse as the region. Pannikin stands out among a host of standouts. When was the last time you had Greek eggs, homemade granola, and a dirty chai in front of an epic fireplace? If it has been a while, then you should head over to Pannikins right away.

Do your house rules forbid eating in the living room? Well you can eat in The Living Room La Jolla as much as you like. The breakfast and lunch menu is inviting for carb loaders and vegans, alike. You will also enjoy the view of the water.

Ahhh Harrys. Your need for nostalgia will be richly satisfied. It has been recognized as one of the best retro coffee spots in the nation. Rest all four of your weary legs and have a belly flop on the floor. No, not you. Im talking to your dog. You see, your dog is also welcome at Harrys. Water for your four-legged friend is on the house, and in it. A coffee shop hardly gets more informal than that.

All of these nice coffee shops in San Diego feed more than your thirst for coffee. Some have impressive food offerings. But if you have room for more, be sure to check out theLa Jolla restaurants and food guide.

The Best La Jolla Coffee Shop For Sweet Treats

Even though Sugar and Scribe is more of a bakery and bistro, their solid coffee bar earns them a spot on the best coffee shops in La Jolla. Dark Horse Coffee Roasters beans are used to provide quality lattes and espressos.

Cold brew and nitro cold brew are available on tap and sourced by Bird Rock Coffee Roasterswhich just happens to be on my list of the best coffee shops in San Diego.

If youre looking to pair your morning brew with a sweet treat, this is your spot. Home to Food Network Champion, Chef Maeve, Sugar and Scribe has a strong reputation in the bakery world and was voted the best bakery in 2017 by San Diego Magazine and La Jolla Village News.

The petit fours are as beautiful as they are delicious, the bread selection is made in-house daily, and the selection of cupcakes, cookies, scones, danishes, muffins, and macarons make for a difficult choice when deciding what to pick.

Grab a table on the front patio or back dining room to order from the breakfast and lunch menu which serves a mix of American and Irish classics. If youre just looking for coffee and a treat, order what you want to go from the bakery and coffee bar.

Since Sugar and Scribe is a full-service restaurant, this really isnt a place to just order a coffee and work on your laptop like the other La Jolla coffee shops on this list.

Coffee Shops In North County San Diego

Patrons of Koffie accuse this chill and relaxing shop of very friendly, non-pretentious service, and simple but perfect lattes. Guilty as charged.

Kettle Coffee & Tea has a lot going for it. Sometimes, the only thing you want with your coffee is a table to get a little work done and an outlet to keep your devices charged. While youre there, try the iced vanilla latte with oat milk. Youre welcome.

As the name implies, Manzanita Roasting Company and Coffee House does their own roasting. Word on the street is that no matter which barista makes your coffee, the taste is always consistent. The brown butter latte on ice is strong, and so are the 5 star ratings.

One Of The Best Coffee Shops In La Jolla For Scones And A Chill Patio

Best Coffee Shops In La Jolla : Street View Picture Of Harry S Coffee ...

Brick and Bell Cafe is the place to go if you want an ultra-casual, no fuss atmosphere. The cozy patio is always packed and at least half the coffee drinkers pair their drink of choice with a fresh-baked scone.

Choose from flavors like classic blueberry, maple walnut, orange almond, or chocolate chip. The scones are massive and have me reminiscing back to my times in the UK. Finding proper scones in the US can be a challenge. Brick and Bell Cafe does them right.

In fact, Brick and Bell Cafe has been supplying the residents of La Jolla with scones and coffee since 2003.

While the scones may steal the show, there are plenty of other options equally as delicious. I highly recommend the Scottish shortbread, apple rosette, and banana bread.

Go for the sunrise sandwich if you want something more substantial. Eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, and tomato are served on your choice of bagel, croissant, wrap, or bread. The avocado toast is also very good as is the house granola.

Coffee-wise, you’ll find everything you need here. Hot, iced, alternative milk options, and macha. Health nuts will be very happy with the Chagaccino, made with Chaga mushrooms, cocoa, vanilla, monk fruit sweetener, and milk of choice.

If you love scones and a chill patio, this is a must visit La Jolla coffee shop.
