Hard Mtn Dew To Hit Shelves In Early 2022

NEW Mountain Dew with Booze better than White Claw?

BOSTON The Boston Beer Co. and PepsiCo will release Hard Mtn Dew in early 2022.

The beverage will have 5% alcohol by volume and come in four flavors: Original, Black Cherry, Watermelon and a to-be-announced fourth flavor. While the flavored malt beverage recipes are still in the final stages of development, Hard Mtn Dew will have no caffeine or sugar, a Boston Beer Co. spokesperson said.

We know that adult drinkers’ tastes are evolving, and they are looking for new and exciting flavorful beverages, said Dave Burwick, Boston Beer’s CEO. The combination of our experience in brewing and developing the best-tasting hard seltzers and hard teas, and Mtn Dew, a one of kind multi-billion-dollar brand, will deliver the excitement and refreshment that drinkers know and love.

Boston Beer will develop and produce Hard Mtn Dew and PepsiCo has set up a new entity to sell, deliver and merchandise the product. The FMB will be marketed to adults of legal age and merchandized consistently with other alcohol beverages, the companies said.

Mountain Dew is a product of Purchase, N.Y.-based PepsiCo. The carbonated soft drink line includes varieties like Mtn Dew Game Fuel, Mtn Dew Voltage and Mtn Dew Zero Sugar.

The Boston Beer Co., Boston, is known for its Samuel Adams beer brand as well as Truly Hard Seltzer, Twisted Tea and Angry Orchard Hard Seltzer.

How Much Caffeine Is Too Much

There is no definitive answer to this question as everyone metabolizes caffeine differently. However, most experts agree that 400 mg of caffeine per day is safe for most people.

So, there you have it! Mountain dew does contain caffeine, but it also contains a lot of sugar. If youre looking for a beverage that will give you a little boost of energy without all the sugar, you may want to try coffee or tea instead.

Why Mountain Dew Is Entering The Alcohol Space

This week, the Boston Beer Company and PepsiCo announced a partnership to create Hard Mtn Dew, an alcoholic version of the soda brand.

The latest variation is just one of the ways Pepsi has attempted to grow Mountain Dews base customer in the last few years. In the release announcement, PepsiCos North America CEO Kirk Tanner, said the new product is meant to address the changing tastes of drinkers. The product is due to hit stores in early 2022.

While Mountain Dew is known to have a dedicated cult following, the brand has its sights set on creating more drinks that cater to a wider variety of demographics. Mountain Dews attempt at relevancy has been especially challenging amid thesoda decline the past decade which was largely due to consumers favoring less sugary beverages, like sparkling water and tonics. Mountain Dews efforts have ranged from major celebrity endorsements working with the likes of LeBron James and John Cena and targeting video gamers, to fast food collaborations with companies like Taco Bell and Papa Johns.

Getting into alcohol could be an important source of revenue for Pepsi while Pepsi doesnt break out soda sales specifically, the companys beverage sales when restaurants closed. Beverage revenue was up 21% year-over-year during PepsiCos second-quarter earnings in July, due to restaurants opening back up but it is not representative of growth that PepsiCo can bet on long-term.

Is Baja Blast Limited

Baja Blast has become a cultural phenomenon. The first version was released in early August 2004 exclusively at Taco Bell restaurants in the U.S. A collaboration between the beverage company and the fast-food restaurant was intended to complement the Mexican-inspired food at Taco Bell while increasing drive-thru beverage sales. This flavor has since expanded beyond Taco Bell to include other brands of fast-food beverages.

The name of this flavor is derived from Baja California, a Mexican state located off the coast of California. It is the westernmost state of Mexico, bordering the American state of California. The name Baja Blast was a misnomer. It was marketed as Baja Blast Freeze, a soda with a similar aquamarine color but no Mountain Dew branding. Despite this, the drink is sold at Taco Bell restaurants and has been linked to some fake Baja Blast bottles.

Mountain Dew is considering bringing back Baja Blast to store shelves. The company has been selling the soda outside of Taco Bell restaurants since 2015. The brand recently promoted the flavors by asking fans to choose between Pitch Black and Baja Blast. It may come back as a zero-caffeine version after all. There are currently three Baja Blast flavors available. One of them is Baja Blast Zero Sugar.

Mountain Dew Baja Blast

Before we discuss whether Mountain Dew Baja Blast has caffeine, lets first talk about what is in the beverage. The flavor has 4.5 milligrams of caffeine per fluid ounce, and a twelve-ounce serving contains about 54 mg. This makes the beverage a bit more than your typical soda, which can be a problem for people with caffeine intolerance. To help you determine the amount of caffeine in a 12 ounce serving, well compare it to other popular beverages with similar caffeine content.

The flavor has the appearance of being radioactive, due to its bright neon yellow-green color. A side effect of caffeine is that it makes it taste sweeter. Mountain Dew Baja Blast contains more caffeine than many other sodas. In addition, the brand also sells Zero Sugar versions of its drinks. If you have a hard time choosing between the two flavors, you can always stick to the classic orange flavor or the caffeine-free version.

Why Is Mountain Dew Bad For You

But you might be wondering why is Mountain Dew bad for you?

The bromine in Mountain Dew is suspected to cause memory loss in humans. In a study, one participant lost the ability to walk after drinking 2 liters of the soda. She eventually required dialysis. As Warmer Weather Nears Blue Moon Debuts Lightsky Tropical Wheat Low

Blue Moon on Wednesday launched the second flavor of its LightSky brand of light, low-calorie beer: LightSky Tropical Wheat, brewed with pineapple and orange juice. The new release weighs in at 95 calories with 3.4 grams of carbs and 4% ABV.

The nose is disarmingly sweet with tons of pineapple and fresh orange juice. On the palate, however, the sweet, fruity notes are quite well balanced nowhere near as overpowering or sickly sweet as the nose would lead you to believe. The taste opens up with crisp lager, followed by heavy citrus, with pineapple and orange leading the charge.

We prefer this new iteration to the original LightSky Citrus Wheat, which debuted in 2020. Citrus Wheat isnt bad, but its more of what we expect from a low-calorie, light beer: light, clean and standard. It brings a lot of orange peel on the palate, while Tropical Wheat delivers the much sweeter orange-juice flavor. Citrus Wheat is solid, but Tropical Wheat is distinctive. It will be a great summer beer to drink outdoors while staying healthy.

On 7 January 2011, Mountain Dew posted on their Facebook that Pitch Black would return to the shelves in May 2011, also stating that this may be the start of many re-releases of old favorites. The company promoted Pitch Blacks return heavily with giveaways and contests. About a month before the planned release date, a photo was posted on a Mountain Dew workers Pongr, which showed Pitch Black and 2008s Supernova. Two weeks before the release, Dew Labs announced the return of 2010s Typhoon in 2-liter bottles exclusively at Walmart Supercenters. The three flavors were re-released to stores on 2 May.

At the same time of the DEWmand Promotion, Mountain Dew launched the Throwback Shack, a website where participators could enter to win exclusive Dew merchandise, including a secret stash of Mountain Dew Revolution, a losing competitor from 2008s DEWmocracy. The promotional advertisements were then taken down from the Mountain Dew website. Mountain Dew later stated via tweet that there would not be any more flavors returning by Popular DEWmand for now, as it was only intended to be a summer program.

How Does Mountain Dew Baja Blast Compare

How does Mountain Dew Baja Blast measure up to its predecessor? The company has brought back Baja Blast flavors to stores after two years. But Pepsi pulled off an elaborate prank to tease consumers into thinking about their return. After all, Baja Blast was popular when it first arrived in stores. Its popularity has continued to rise as the companys new Baja line hits stores.

While MountainDew Baja Blast has been available in convenience stores in Canada and the US since August 2018, it was not released until September 2018. The caffeine content in MountainDew Baja is 46 mg per 12-oz can, which is about four times lower than the amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee. However, the sugar content in the Mountain Dew Baja Blast might be higher than you expect.

Caffeine is a common health concern in sodas, especially those with high sugar levels. MountainDew is rich in caffeine compared to other popular sodas, which are high in sugar and have many other health risks. A cup of coffee has 100 milligrams of caffeine. A single 12-ounce bottle of MountainDew contains fifty-one milligrams of caffeine. Sodas are notorious for high levels of caffeine and artificial additives.

That is equal to approximately one or two 8 ounce cups of coffee.

You Dew You Hard Mtn Dew Twirls On Its Haters In Launch Markets

Follow along on your own string board: Hard MTN DEW is a 5% ABV, 100-calorie, non-caffeinated flavored malt beverage that begins with PepsiCo trucking Mountain Dew concentrate to The Boston Beer Companys production facilities, where it is combined with a malt-derived alcohol base, packaged, and sold back to Pepsi for sale through the soft drink companys distribution network.

Capiche?

Hard MTN DEWs development, production, and distribution are convoluted. But in the 11 days since its Feb. 22 debut, one thing has become clear from retailer reports: Drinkers are more than ready to get all jacked up on boozy Mountain Dew.

Unfortunately it sold out before I could force myself to try it, says Lauren Reardon, assistant store manager of a Kroger grocery store in La Verne, Tennessee. She says her Kroger sold out of its first delivery of 18 cases of Hard MTN DEW within four days. Thats unusual.

Announced in August, the flavored malt beverage initially drew its share of WTF reactions. To start, the standard version of Mountain Dew is itself a flavor mystery. Were legal drinking age adults really asking for a spiked version? And how was Pepsi, which hadnt until now distributed alcohol, planning to legally and logistically move into this highly regulated space? The latter, at least, has an answer: Pepsi created a new business division, Blue Cloud, to seek alcohol distribution licenses in Hard MTN DEWs 17 proposed launch markets.

Its just the name, probably, he says.
