Homemade Flavored Coffee Creamer 20+ Flavor Combo Ideas

How to Make Homemade Coffee Creamer

Im one of those Would you like some coffee with your creamer? type people. Coffee in and of itself is boring and bitter to me. But I do enjoy its benefits upon occasion. So, to enjoy it, I must make it palatable. Enter: creamer. And lots of it!

However, store-bought creamer, even though it is so very yummy, is also so very unhealthy. Its chock full of yucky things like sugar and preservatives.

Since Ive been doing Trim Healthy Mama, I decided some on plan coffee creamer was in order. So I started making my own! And really, it could NOT be any easier. It contains so few ingredients, its so fast to whip up, and it tastes so very good!

Does Coffee Creamer Last Longer Than Half And Half

Since this coffee creamer is homemade and has no artificial ingredients or preservatives, it lasts the same amount of time as cream would in your fridge. I suggest keeping your homemade coffee creamer in an airtight jar or container in the fridge for up to 6-7 days. BUT, I can almost bet you it wont last that long!

Homemade Chocolate Almond Coffeecreamer

Ingredients:

4 T. cacao powder 1 T. honey1-2 T. almond extract

Directions:

Same as above, except start by adding first 4 ingredients before bringing to a low simmer. Once it starts to simmer, remove from heat and add almond extract.

This amount lasts me about a week in the fridge, but any longer than that, I can tell it has hit its shelf life. I work from home so drink a LOT of coffee while in my office. If you are a 1-2 cup per day person, you can easily cut this recipe in half or by a third. Ive made it so many times, I just eyeball the ingredients and it always turns out delicious.

To make dairy-free: You can absolutely use coconut or almond milk in place of the half and half, whatever your preference! Just note that the creamer will be a bit thinner in consistency.

Ingredient Note: I generally pick up my half and half at Costco for about $2.75/half gallon. They also have great prices on maple syrup and honey, if youre looking to buy in a larger amount.

Please share with us if you have tried something similar or have a favorite flavor combination!

I found the pitcher I use for my creamer at a vintage crafts and antiques show, but this glass pitcher from Circleware would work great and is inexpensive! Use a cheap plastic funnel to make pouring easier.

How Long Is Homemade Coffee Creamer Good For

Generally, it will last 7-10 days tightly sealed in your refrigerator.Youll also want to make note of the expiration date of your milk because that could affect it.

I found this on Mommy Savers.I had this great idea about adding that wee bottle of Baileys Irish Cream to the mix.

Yes, it is alcohol, but who says you cant start drinking at 7 am? Besides, its just a smidgen. But alas, Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard andthe cupboard was bare.

Darn it!I guess I already drank it and didnt even remember.

I had a small bottle of Godiva Chocolate liquor, but I wasnt in the mood for chocolate in my coffee.Yes, I know, GO FIGURE!

And WHY have I never thought about making our own creamer at home before??!!I guess its true that necessity IS the mother of invention.

This was SUPER easy, did the trick, and is less expensive than the fancy store-bought stuff. It will save you money and you know exactly the ingredients youre putting into it, none of those fancy words that you cant pronounce.

I may never buy creamer again. The full recipe is below.

Creamer Base Recipe #:

Homemade Coffee Creamer Recipe
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup whole milk

Directions:

Whisk together until fully combined or pour into a Mason jar, apply lid tightly then shake to combine. Store in the refrigerator. From here you simply add whatever flavorings to create your favorite sweet, flavored coffee creamer. Double even triple this recipe as you desire.

Curiously, this may appear to be a complicated way to make half and half, and youre partially correct. However, starting with heavy whipping cream makes a creamier, slightly thicker result, which I prefer and you may as well.

Note: If a recipe calls for a dry ingredient, such as cocoa powder, a spice like cinnamon or a thick ingredient like honey, pour all ingredients into a saucepan and heat over medium heat to dissolve those ingredients so they will be absorbed into the base. Pour the finished creamer through a fine sieve to remove any tiny solids or bits of spice that may remain. Now you wont have them floating in your coffee.

How To Make Powdered Coffee Creamer:

First, mix together the dry ingredients.

Next, slowly drizzle the melted coconut oil over the dry ingredients.

I used a mason jar and just had to put the lid on the jar and shook everything together like crazy.

Finally, I then took a butter knife and broke up any bigger pieces, then shook again. You can also use a food processor if you prefer.

The heavier coconut oil tends to settle, so I suggest making this in a container that can be tightly sealed so you can mix it a bit before you use it.

What Variations Can You Make

You

Here is where you can let your creativity flow. Well get you started with a few popular choices. For more creaminess, use heavy cream instead of milk. To cut back on the calories a bit, you can use low-fat sweetened condensed milk and any regular milk you prefer to fit your dietary needs.

In terms of flavors, take a look at your baking cabinet. Spices like nutmeg and cinnamon and extracts like vanilla, peppermint, almond, and hazelnut can make delicious creamers. You can even whip up a seasonal pumpkin spice mixture or add chocolate syrup for a decadent treat. We recommend adding about two teaspoons of spices and extracts to each batch of creamer.

When adding dry spices like cinnamon, you may want to heat a small amount of the base creamer with the spice so it will dissolve and not leave you with a grainy texture. Using pure vanilla extract instead of imitation vanilla will improve the creamers flavor.

Adjust the measurements to your taste, and let your spice cabinet be your playground!

Ahhh coffee, it makes mornings tolerable, and my to-do list achievable, and even adds a little extra pep to my afternoons. I generally like to drink my coffee black, but I do enjoy indulging in flavored sweetened coffee occasionally.

But one day I decided to try my hand at making homemade Italian sweet cream coffee creamer, and let me tell you it was life-changing! Now making the perfect cup of indulgently creamy and remarkably rich coffee at home is easier than ever.

Im excited to tell you that this really could not be easier, because to make all 3 of these coffee creamer flavors you simply whisk together the ingredients.

For the Vanilla creamer, I like to simmer everything together over low heat to really infuse the milk. I do the same for the Baileys flavor, but for a slightly different reason, as this will gently cook off the alcohol content, but leave that rich flavor. The result for all 3 is the perfect thick rich coffee creamer dressed up with loads of flavor so no matter your mood, you can have a coffee flavor to match!
