Keurig – K-classic K50 Single Serve K-cup Pod Coffee Maker

Similarities: Keurig K50 And Keurig K55

WATER FILTER INSTALLATION Keurig K-Classic K Cup Coffee Maker Model K50

Nowadays, customers want a product that is easy to activate as they do not have the time to spend reading manuals or watching YouTube videos. If your product does not have an easy installation process, then users may move on to the next. One similarity between these two coffee makers is their ease of installation. Installing and activating them is an intuitive process where you do not stand a chance of messing up.

Keurig K50 and Keurig K55 have a sleek and elegant design, and they both blend well with other items in your house, which makes them a great addition to your kitchen.

Another similarity between the two is in their functionality and features. For instance, both coffee makers brew 6 oz, 8 oz, and 10 oz sizes. Additionally, they both come with an auto-off function, water reservoir, button controls, indicator lights, and they both brew coffee in under one minute.

Nothing beats the two coffee makers when it comes to convenience, as you can brew your coffee within a minute by just pressing a button. You just need to have your K-cup ready, and your water reservoir clean and full of water, and you are good to go.

Both brewers have no temperature control.

The two coffee brewers have the same dimensions in terms of size though their weight differs, and they are also user-friendly.

Value For The Money 35/5

The Keurig K Classic coffee maker isnt expensive. The sticker price is $119.99 on Keurigs website, but we very much doubt that many owners pay that amount, as we found it for sale much cheaper at the time of writing. It appears as though it regularly retails for $79.99 or less.

That said, there are ways to get a far superior cup of coffee for much less money.

If you know what youre doing, coffee brewing systems such as Aeropress, French presses, and other less high-tech coffee brewers yield a far better cup of coffee, time and again, for a fraction of the cost.

What is more, Keurigs arent built to last forever. They warranty their machines for one year, but anecdotal evidence shows that most users end up replacing their Keurigs after about five years.

Given that most people know a Grandmother who still uses the Bialetti she received as a wedding present, thats not a very long time when it comes to coffee makers.

Keurig is continuously improving their machines and staying on top of brewing technology its one of the perks of buying from them. While your machine might look and perform outdated well within a decade of purchase, even if it isnt broken, you may want a new one, anyway.

All of that being said, its still a relatively good deal for a mid-range coffee maker.

Break It Down: The Pros And Cons

Lets take a quick look at lists of the pros and cons of the Keurig K Classic coffee maker before we close:

Pros:

Easy to use: simple and convenient

Low maintenance

Hundreds of flavors and brands of coffee from which to choose, all in K-cup form

A well-recognized, reputable company

Variety of brew sizes also allow you some control over the strength of the coffee.

Compatible with a travel mug

Mid-range price and frequently found on sale

Cons:

It does not yield a complex or particularly nuanced coffee flavor

It does not allow the coffee consumer a lot of control over the finished product

Not suitable for the environment

It does not always reach the ideal temperature for brewing coffee

Unfortunately, the Keurig K probably wont last more than five or so years.

You cant brew more than one cup at a time, so it isnt suitable for someone who likes to host parties and serve a lot of people coffee at once

Who Will Love The Keurig K Classic

The Keurig K-Cup Classic is perfect for someone who wants a smooth cup of coffee fast. Keurigs, in general, are popular with:

  • Only coffee-drinkers: whether you live with roommates or a spouse who doesnt drink coffee, or all by yourself, theres often no point in brewing more than a single cup of coffee, which makes Keurig so ideal.
  • Moms and Dads: parents dump dozens of half-cups of stale, cold coffee after getting distracted before they could finish them. With Keurig, they can easily and quickly brew a brand new cup.
  • All-day drinkers: Some people need their morning cup of joe, but then also depend on an afternoon pick-me-up. Keurigs are perfect because you can brew just the right amount exactly when you need it.
  • Offices! The founders of Keurig and inventors of the first Keurig machine set out to create a coffee maker for offices, with which everyone could enjoy a fresh cup at any time of the day. They more than succeeded in this endeavor.

Because they are so low maintenance, anyone who wants to simplify their brewing ritual loves Keurig. Keurigs are also fantastic for people who drink coffee more for the caffeine than the natural flavors or who like sweeter, heavily seasoned, or non-naturally flavored coffee. In other words, not coffee snobs.

One of the other most significant and most valid criticisms of Keurig coffee makers is that they arent environmentally friendly, and there is a lot of evidence to back that up.

Are Keurig K50 For You

Keurig K50 K

The discontinued K50 is still worth purchasing if you can get a good deal. It doesn’t have any outdated tech that limits its usability and is still a quality model.

If you like the K50 but want the included water filter starter kit, take a look at the K55.

However, we really do recommend going with the K-Classic, which is currently in production, supported by Keurig, and has all of the features you’d find on K40-K55 brewers.
