My cause is insignificant and unimportant , and my stand isnt likely to resonate . But, dang it, Im gonna make it anyway.
Here goes: Caffeine Free Dr Pepper should be available everywhere, and it boggles my mind that its not. You probably didnt even know that Caffeine Free Dr Pepper is part of our world, did you? Im not surprised.
But heres why this is important, and why Im making this plea to the Dr Pepper Muckety-Mucks: Once upon a time, Caffeine Free Dr Pepper was a game-changing soda for me.
When I discovered it back in, like, 2006, it was a celebratory moment in my Dr Pepper-loving life. The lack of caffeine opened up so many possibilities. See, despite my fondness for the regular product, I dont like drinking it at night because of the caffeine. I need my sleep. I dont even like drinking it in the late afternoon or with dinner because caffeine hangs around in your body for a long time. Caffeine Free Dr Pepper took care of that.
Basically, Caffeine Free Dr Pepper comes without rules. Its like Beverage Thunderdome.
The other great thing about it, and this cant be overstated, is that it tastes almost exactly like regular Dr Pepper. Like, 99.9999997 percent the same. So close that I cant really tell the differencethe perfect solution for someone who loves Dr Pepper but wants to cut back on caffeine.

The coronavirus pandemic has led to a shortage of many items and Dr Pepper feels your pain.
After the initial run on paper towels, toilet paper and hand sanitizer, we learned that soft drinks were becoming a rare commodity during the pandemic. Attributed to both a disruption in the supply chain that brings artificial sweetener to the factory and an aluminum shortage, many Americans were – and apparently still are – having a hard time finding their favorite beverage.
Dr Pepper wants you to know they’re “working on it.”
In a tweet Monday, the brand said they’re working with distribution partners to keep their soda on the shelf, while keeping their employees safe. Dr Pepper said the limitations are affecting all flavors of the beverage, including the new Dr Pepper & Cream Soda drink.

Bad news for cola fans hoping to sleep their way through the rest of 2020. America is apparently facing a caffeine-free cola shortageand its unclear when non-buzz-worthy products like Caffeine-Free Coca-Cola may return to their former glory.
Writing for The Takeout last week, self-proclaimed seasonal soda addict Nick Leggin explained that he went on his annual search for his cola of choiceCaffeine-Free Coca-Colaonly to find empty shelves everywhere he turned. After disappointment at his favorite local grocery store, the Illinois resident was also unable to score any stimulant-free goodies at Walmart, Target, and Jewel-Osco. Apparently, it wasnt just bad luck, a second-hand account from a Coke delivery driver suggested that Caffeine-Free Coca-Cola hadnt been sent out for months.
“We and our retail partners are doing what we can to make sure store shelves are stocked with the products people want. However, the increased demand on aluminum has presented a challenge at times for us and our partners. We are implementing contingency plans as best we can, and in some cases, that means prioritizing some brands over others. Caffeine Free Coca-Cola is still being produced, but in limited quantities based on location. Our hope is to return it to full capacity in the near future.”
