Circle K announced a brand-new drink subscription program that charges a flat monthly rate for customers to get one beverage every day.
Rather than pay per drink, Circle K has joined Panera and Burger King in inviting people to subscribe to a beverage program. But unlike those other programs, Circle K is including a bunch of non-coffee options in their drink plan.

I’ve tried my fair share of gas station ice cubes, and my research has helped me conclude that Circle K’s crushed ice from their soda machine is hands down the best. - Convenience store chain Circle K is launching a beverage subscription program for $5.99 per month.
- Circle K’s Sip & Save program is the latest example of convenience stores trying to eat into fast-food chains’ market share.
- Panera Bread and Burger King have used coffee subscription programs to bring more consumers to their restaurants.
Convenience store chain Circle K is launching a beverage subscription program, following in the footsteps of Burger King and Panera Bread.
Starting Wednesday, U.S. customers who pay $5.99 per month can have one tea, coffee, Froster slushy or Polar Pop fountain drink of their choosing every day.
Circle K’s Sip & Save program looks to build loyalty and coax people into its stores again on a regular basis. During the coronavirus pandemic, consumers made fewer trips to convenience stores.
Sales of self-serve beverages took a hit industrywide. Hot dispensed drinks’ sales fell by a third, while cold dispensed drinks shrank by 7.9%, according to the National Association of Convenience Stores.
“We really see this an opportunity to drive traffic at a time that people are just starting to come out of the understandable cocoons that they’ve been in for the last 12-plus months,” said Kevin Lewis, chief marketing officer of Alimentation Couche-Tard, Circle K’s parent company.
For now, Circle K is planning on running the Sip & Save program for 90 days.

- Delivery fees start at $3.99 for same-day orders over $35. Fees vary for one-hour deliveries, club store deliveries, and deliveries under $35.
- Service fees vary and are subject to change based on factors like location and the number and types of items in your cart. Orders containing alcohol have a separate service fee.
- Tipping is optional but encouraged for delivery orders. It’s a great way to show your shopper appreciation and recognition for excellent service. 100% of your tip goes directly to the shopper who delivers your order.
- There may be a “pickup fee” on your pick up order that is typically $1.99 for non-Express members. Express membership waives this like it would a delivery fee.
- Pick up orders have no service fees, regardless of non-Express or Express membership.

Coffee Bean’s Pellet Ice Cubes
In second place, right behind the front-runner, Sonic, is The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. These cubes are pellet-shaped and very similar to Sonic’s nugget ice. I personally think they’re a bit crunchier and harsher on the teeth than Sonic’s, but, nonetheless, I still find them extremely satisfying to chew on.

Once-a-day iced tea drinks, iced or hot coffee, Froster slushies and Polar Pop fountain drinks of any size
Circle K, the largest independent convenience store operator in the U.S., is launching a time-limited Sip & Save beverage subscription service. For $5.99 a month, subscribers can get daily drinks of any size including iced tea, hot or iced sustainably-sourced coffee, Froster slushies and Polar Pop fountain drinks. If subscribers take advantage of the daily beverage limitation , the estimated cost per drink is 20 cents. The more often a subscriber visits, the more likely it is they will make purchases of other items too hot food, candy, snacks, gas and other products.
Though companies like Panera have been successful with their beverage subscription services, Circle Ks Sip & Save has two key differences. First, the subscription is being paired with Circle Ks Scan to Win summer fuel promotion where shoppers can save up to $0.99 per gallon. Second, the Sip & Save beverage subscription is only available for a limited time to drive sales during late spring/early summer. The subscription and fuel promotion launched on Friday, May 28 and will run through July 5, 2021.

Circle K Gives Beverage Subscription Program A Whirl
Customers can have a drink a day on Circle K for a monthly fee and a limited time.
Circle K is nationally rolling out a new monthly beverage subscription program, Sip & Save, through Monday, July 5. Customers can choose any one of Circle Ks fountain beverages including iced tea, iced or hot coffee, Polar Pop and Froster in any size cup, each day for $5.99 a month. Consumers can sign up for the limited-time program with a mobile number at checkout.
The retailer had previously been testing Sip & Save at more than 100 stores in Georgia and South Carolina during spring 2021. As part of its promotional efforts for the program, Circle K is partnering with Instagram road trip influencers Idle Theory Bus, The Mom Trotter, and Our Home on Wheels. Subscription members are encouraged to share their experiences on the Circle K Facebook and Instagram pages.
Circle K is also launching Scan To Win, a digital game at the pump which will run May 26 July 5. Customers have a chance to save up to 99 cents per gallon on their next fill and win thousands of instant daily prizes. Shoppers can play the game by scanning the campaign QR code at participating stations, including branded fuel partners and Circle K Fuel-branded locations.
