Making Sweet Cold Foam In A French Press

The best way to make any cold foam is with a French press. If you dont have one, I recommend the;Stanley French Press with Double Vacuum Insulation;from Amazon.com. Its a bit more expensive than some other options, but Im a big believer in Stanley products.;

My grandfather used his Stanley coffee thermos for about two decades, and if I wanted, I could still get it out of the cabinet and use it today. So I dont mind paying extra for something thats going to last that long.

If you have a French press, simply pour your ingredients into it, replace the lid, and work the plunger for 30 seconds to a minute. After that, your cold foam should be ready to serve.;

Easy Ways To Make Your Coffee Taste Like It Came From The Coffee Shop

Do you remember the last time you whiled away time at a coffee shop? For me, it was March 2, just two weeks before our world was shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic. I met up with a friend and we chatted for hours as we sipped our drinks an Americano with cream for me and noshed on cookies. We were blissfully unaware that it would be our last time sharing such a moment for the indefinite future.

For many of us, coffee shops arent just about the coffee drinks but the experiences that come with them. From working for hours on a project with a steady flow of drip coffee to overhearing an awkward first date while sipping an expertly crafted latte, coffee shops are unique ecosystems. While we cant recreate everything about them, we can at least channel our inner barista and up our coffee game at home whether or not your local coffee shop has re-opened.

From equipment to techniques, here are a few ways to make shop-worthy java at home.

What If My Coffee Tastes

The temperature of the water can severely affect the brewing process. However, other factors may cause a disruption of flavor in your coffee.

If youve kept your equipment clean and your coffee beans are fresh, but theres still some funky flavor happening, there could be other factors causing problems.;

Store Coffee In A Ceramic Canister

Once opened, coffee should be stored in a canister that shields sunlight. According to Jazmin, you should always store coffee in a dark colored-ceramic or glass containerthis keeps the coffee fresher. Its also important to avoid freezing your coffee. When you freeze coffee, theres a chance that it will absorb moisture, which can affect its taste.

Ingredient : The Syrup

HOW TO MAKE A STARBUCKS ICED COFFEE

Prepare to have your mind blown. Starbucks sells their syrup bottles! Any flavor! Can you believe it? Just be mindful that they need to have extra in stock, so you may want to let them know ahead of time.;

I know what you’re thinking: “But what about one of those cool little pumps?” They will give that to you as well as long as you smile and ask nicely. Baristas see a lot of mean people in their day, especially in the drive-thru. So be nice or they will mysteriously be out of the pumps.

Vanilla is the most popular syrup flavor at Starbucks so they usually have plenty of extras. This is my favorite flavor so I use it in my iced coffee. However, if you want sweetened iced coffee like how Starbucks makes it, you’ll need to buy a bottle of Classic syrup. It’s nothing more than a simple syrup. Each syrup bottle costs about $12.95-14.95, depending on what part of the country you’re in.

Of course you can buy other versions of vanilla syrup too, like Torani. But I am not going to lie, they are not my favorite. It tastes a little “fake” to me. Maybe this is the prissy Barista in me talking buuuuuuut, that’s just my opinion.

Add 2 pumps into your coffee and that will be plenty sweet. This bottle will give you 33 servings. I wish I could say that it lasts me a month, but… ::wink, wink:::

The Few Tests Starbucks Does Pass

Starbucks still has some attributes that make people wonder if they still fall within the specialty coffee umbrella.

For example, Starbucks is still considered by many a leader in ethical sourcing.

  • 99% of their coffee is labeled ethical according to Coffee and Farmer Equity Practices, a system established by sustainability organization SCS Global Services.
  • Their sourcings impact on the environment and local economy can be measured, graded, and quantified.

Though there are definitely legitimate concerns about the effectiveness of this approach, its at least a system that encourages some measure of accountability.

Starbucks rides the fence in a few other areas:

  • Starbucks follows the specialty coffee trends. Their cafes are filled with drinks and brewers that are beloved by the specialty coffee community, such as cold brew coffee, french presses, and pour over brewers.
  • Starbucks is a community participant in the specialty coffee industry. Their scientists speak at coffee events, their baristas compete in high-level competitions, and they even sponsor the big SCAA trade show every year.

How To Make Cold Brew Coffee

Cold brew coffee might sound like a new trend, but it’s actually been around for centuries. It was first made in Japan during the Edo period when iced tea became popular among monks who didn’t want to drink warm tea in hot weather. The technique came over to America then the rest of the world when Japanese immigrants started making it again in the 1960s and 70s. Today, cold brew is all the rage because it’s easy to make at home and tastes great with milk or cream and can be made in batches for future enjoyment!

    Cookies N Cream Frappe

    If youre feeling super fancy but bored of the usual flavours then try a cookies n cream frappe from Starbucks. It tastes amazing when hot or cold and its really creamy so smooth with no ice crystals. If you cant find the cookies n cream powder then try just doing a regular frappe, but putting Oreos into it instead! You could even crumble up some more Oreos and put them on top as well so that you get a good mix of texture in your drink. I think they also sell Oreos in Starbucks which would be perfect for this drink!

    Make Starbucks Cold Brew Coffee At Home With This Copycat Recipe

    I have an addiction to Starbucks cold brew iced coffee. If youre not familiar with cold brew, its prepared through a slow extraction process thats kept cool or room temperature from start to finish the coffee never gets heated up. This results in a smoother, less acidic drink. And the Starbucks variety has a very unique, strong dark chocolate flavor that I cant seem to find anywhere else.

    My addiction has been problematic for two reasons. The first one is pretty obvious: Buying coffee at Starbucks is unnecessarily expensive. Spending $5 per day on coffee instead of investing that money in a stock market index fund will cost somewhere in the vicinity of $300,000 over a 30-year period.

    I never came close to buying Starbucks every day, but spending $4-5 on a drink felt kinda dumb no matter how frequently I was doing it. So Lauren and I came up with a hack to get BOGO Starbucks cold brew every time we went. Unfortunately, even at 50% off, the cost still felt unjustifiable.

    Aside from the price, my other problem was the coffee itself: Starbucks makes their cold brew in a delicious, strong, concentrated form, which they then dilute with a lot of water before serving . I like soymilk in my cold brew, but I dont want that extra water. In the past, it was easy to order this way, but the vast majority of Starbucks stores cant or wont do a no water cold brew concentrate any more.

    Your Beans Arent Fresh

    Coffee does not have an infinite shelf life, no matter how good the beans look or how faintly they still smell. The second those little pockets of deliciousness leave the roaster, they begin to lose flavor.

    Roasting produces a ton of carbon dioxide in coffee beans. They then leak carbon dioxide in a process called degassing. The longer they degas, the more flavor escapes. If your beans have been forgotten in the back of a cabinet for a year or improperly stored, it could be the reason behind your lackluster cup of coffee.

    Think about it like this. For every 24 hours you leave coffee exposed to air at room temperature, it loses 10% of its shelf life. Thats a ton of flavor loss. Even if its stored properly, the constant release of gases and oxidation of the coffee oils will affect the taste.

    How to Fix It: As much as it may pain you to throw away treasured beans, its what you need to do. Try not to be a coffee hoarder and always store your beans properly. Coffee is better when its fresh, so you want to make regular shopping trips and only buy what you need for the next week or two. And remember to look for a roast date instead of an expiration date on your coffee label.

    When we say fresh, we mean between four days and two weeks old. Thats because really fresh coffee is still in a major degassing phase and hasnt had enough time to develop more flavorful oils.

    Starbucks Cold Brew Concentrate Recipe

    Alright, here it is the perfect step-by-step Starbucks cold brew concentrate copycat recipe:

  • Coarsely grind 3.3 lb of Starbucks Espresso Dark Roast coffee beans into your brew bags. This should equate to about 20 cups of loose coffee grounds.
  • Tie your brew bags tightly at the top so that coffee grounds cannot escape, but make sure the grounds remain loose inside the bag so they can move around freely.
  • Place the brew bags in your pitcher, and fully immerse them in 32 cups of cool, filtered water.
  • Gently massage your brew bags under the water to ensure that all grounds get wet.
  • Cover your pitcher, and place it in the refrigerator for 21-26 hours. Rotate or gently agitate the bags one more time during this brewing period to make sure all grounds are staying wet. Do not agitate vigorously.
  • Open the pitcher, and drain all liquid out of your brew bags by hanging them over the pitcher. Let gravity do all of the work slowly. Do not squeeze liquid out of the coffee grounds. After draining is complete, you should be left with approximately 21 cups of super strong cold brew coffee concentrate!
  • Enjoy your coffee. You can keep the concentrate covered and refrigerated for up to one month.
  • Remember, if you want to make more or less cold brew, you can always multiply the entire coffee recipe by an arbitrary constant. For example, you could double the entire recipe, or cut it in half if you prefer.

    What Is The Secret Of Starbucks Popularity

    HOW TO MAKE STARBUCKS ICED COFFEE AT HOME

    Starbucks is one of the biggest chains of coffee stores ever. The question is how did they become a monopolist in this field? The answer is simple: they launched their order-and-pay mobile app in 2009. Lets see how it influenced their market position.

    According to Statista, in 2020, Starbucks made $19.16 billion in revenue. Thats double their revenue prior to launching the mobile app. So how did they do it?

    The Starbucks app has changed the market for a number of reasons. Lets see why customers are so attracted to Starbucks.

    If were going to speak about Starbucks attractiveness, we should talk about their loyalty program. The Starbucks loyalty program is one of the most effective triggers for customers to make purchases in Starbucks. The main idea is that a customer receives two stars for each $1 spent. When they collect 125 stars, they can redeem them for free goods from the Starbucks shop. In addition, app users receive a free drink for their birthday from Starbucks.

    There are also some levels that you can achieve in the app. Earning five stars unlocks the Green level. And when you receive 30 stars, you reach the Gold level, which gives you access to:

    • a free drink for every 12 stars;
    • a personalized Gold Card;
    • special offers just for you.

    As you can see, Starbucks has done a great job at building customer loyalty. Their customers dont only drink coffee; they play a game and earn rewards that they can spend on goods.
