Vizzy Debuts Mimosa Hard Seltzer Nationwide
Vizzy launched a line of 5%-ABV mimosa hard seltzers in late February, intended to be enjoyed with a nice brunch. Honestly, this is a great idea, and its surprising we havent seen mimosa hard seltzers from a major producer until now.
Available flavors of Vizzy Mimosa Hard Seltzer are pineapple orange, strawberry orange and pomegranate orange and peach orange.
Vizzy Mimosa Hard Seltzer is made with real orange juice and is a healthy option, sugar-free with only 100 calories.
These are pretty good. Mimosas fit naturally into the seltzer format since the sparkling nature of seltzers perfectly mimics the bubbliness of champagne. Refreshing and with a nice fizz, these are light and would make a good addition to your next brunch. However, they would taste more like mimosas if the orange flavor was stronger. At least for the strawberry and peach flavors , those flavors came through much stronger than the orange.
Its also a shame they dont pour orange. That seems like a missed opportunity. Theyre clear, which takes you out of the mindset that youre drinking a mimosa.
Vizzy also debuted a new North American marketing campaign, IZ A VIBE, which will cover not only Vizzy Mimosa Hard Seltzer but also all of Vizzys products in the U.S. and Canada.

What States Sell Baja Blast Hard Mtn Dew
According to the official Social Media / Twitter account for the alcoholic beverage, @hardmountaindew, the following states sell the trending, zero sugar hard seltzer whose flavor is featured in soft drink version at Taco Bell restaurants. This is according to the Press Release that CNN has sent out.
Update: Rumor has it that Hard Dew will be sold in 17 total states soon. We’d be shocked if Florida wasn’t one of them.
Oh, it already is? Makes total sense.
In the most recent week of IRI-tracked chain retail sales, Hard MTN DEW made $1.3 million from five states. That’s more money than Schlafly, Surly, or Platform breweries have sold in chain stores year to date.

As Warmer Weather Nears Blue Moon Debuts Lightsky Tropical Wheat Low
Blue Moon on Wednesday launched the second flavor of its LightSky brand of light, low-calorie beer: LightSky Tropical Wheat, brewed with pineapple and orange juice. The new release weighs in at 95 calories with 3.4 grams of carbs and 4% ABV.
The nose is disarmingly sweet with tons of pineapple and fresh orange juice. On the palate, however, the sweet, fruity notes are quite well balanced nowhere near as overpowering or sickly sweet as the nose would lead you to believe. The taste opens up with crisp lager, followed by heavy citrus, with pineapple and orange leading the charge.
We prefer this new iteration to the original LightSky Citrus Wheat, which debuted in 2020. Citrus Wheat isnt bad, but its more of what we expect from a low-calorie, light beer: light, clean and standard. It brings a lot of orange peel on the palate, while Tropical Wheat delivers the much sweeter orange-juice flavor. Citrus Wheat is solid, but Tropical Wheat is distinctive. It will be a great summer beer to drink outdoors while staying healthy.

Mountain Dew Is Adding A Familiar Fast Food Flavor To Its Boozy Lineup
Beverage companies are gearing up for the warmer months ahead and have started dropping new hard seltzers and canned cocktails. Coca-Cola and Molson Coors recently teamed up to bring fans Simply Spiked Lemonade, and now Mountain Dew is introducing a new alcoholic take on one of its most exclusive and popular flavors. In a renewed partnership with Boston Beer Company, Pepsi plans to release its fourth flavor of hard Mountain Dew in February: Baja Blast .
Taco Bell fans have been enjoying the exclusive flavor at the fast food chain since 2004, but soon they’ll be able to can crack open cans of the boozy soft drink at home. Each can of Hard MTN DEW Baja Blast is 100 calories and contains 5% alcohol by volume, with no added sugar or caffeine. Unfortunately for some, the drink will only be available in select states.
Who Makes Hard Mountain Dew
Behind this concoctious concoction of summertime hilarity are Pepsico Beverages North America and the Boston Beer Company, who you probably refer to more casually as Sam Adams. This makes sense from an operations and production perspective, as Boston Beer Company ships Truly Hard Seltzers – so, they know what they are doing – a fact which can be verified since they just released a tribute beer to Tom Brady called Greatest of Ale Time.
Gotta wonder if Coca-Cola has their own large-scale craft brewers helping to back their own soft drink turn hard seltzer. More research to come.

On 7 January 2011, Mountain Dew posted on their Facebook that Pitch Black would return to the shelves in May 2011, also stating that this may be the start of many re-releases of old favorites. The company promoted Pitch Black’s return heavily with giveaways and contests. About a month before the planned release date, a photo was posted on a Mountain Dew worker’s Pongr, which showed Pitch Black and 2008’s Supernova. Two weeks before the release, Dew Labs announced the return of 2010’s Typhoon in 2-liter bottles exclusively at Walmart Supercenters. The three flavors were re-released to stores on 2 May.
At the same time of the DEWmand Promotion, Mountain Dew launched the Throwback Shack, a website where participators could enter to win exclusive Dew merchandise, including a “secret stash” of Mountain Dew Revolution, a losing competitor from 2008’s DEWmocracy. The promotional advertisements were then taken down from the Mountain Dew website. Mountain Dew later stated via tweet that there would not be any more flavors returning ‘by Popular DEWmand’ for now, as it was only intended to be a summer program.

PepsiCo’s Hard Mountain Dew line of alcoholic malt beverages contains 5 percent Alcohol by Volume , no added sugar or caffeine, and features four flavors: classic citrus Mountain Dew, Black Cherry, Watermelon, and Baja Blast.
The Boston Beer Company, which is famously known for its Samuel Adams beer, produces Hard Mountain Dew in partnership with PepsiCo. As such, I thought it was appropriate to use my Samuel Adams tasting glasses for my first pour.
Hard Mountain Dew is basically alcoholic, diet soda. As such, there is a prominent taste of artificial sweetener in each of the four flavors. My guess is that they skipped the added sugar to offset the calories inherent in alcohol and retain a more acceptable 100 calories total per 12 ounce can.
The taste of the alcohol itself is barely noticeable over the artificial sweetener, which may or may not be a plus for some people.
Hard Mountain Dew has a somewhat milder citrus flavor than the regular soda version. This flavor unfortunately has a strong artificial sweetener aftertaste, which almost makes the beverage itself taste slightly bitter. You can smell the alcohol more than you can taste it.
The Baja Blast flavor masked the taste of the artificial sweetener considerably better, with the mild alcohol taste coming in midway through the sip and rounding out with a notable coconut aftertaste. It smells just like the soda-version of Baja Blast. This flavor was probably my favorite in terms of the balance.

HARD MTN DEW accomplishes its goal: It tastes exactly like Mountain Dew. Its tasty and refreshing, particularly the iconic Baja Blast. These dont contain sugar, but you cant tell, which is the mark of a successful sugar-free drink.
These are dangerous in how much they really do taste just like Mountain Dew. They dont taste very boozy at all, and their balance of sweetness, tartness and fizz make them easy to down quickly and without much thought. Basically, if you want to get a buzz on while drinking Mountain Dew, these are perfect for you.
Baja Blast is absolutely the winner here, and the original is good, too. The Watermelon and Black Cherry flavors arent terrible, but theyre definitely the lowlights of the pack, particularly the Black Cherry. Watermelon and Black Cherry start off well, their sweetness offset by fizz and tartness, but youre left with intense sweetness on the finish, which is a little much, particularly the Black Cherry, which leaves you with a bit of a cherry-cough-syrup taste on the back end.

Mountain Dew Is Releasing Baja Blast Hard Seltzer
Taco Bell fans know of Mountain Dews Baja Blast flavor it was specifically created for the chain back in 2004. But now the Mountain Dew is taking things to the next level with Hard Mtn Dew Baja Blast.
For the uninitiated, its a lime-flavored soda and it joins the already announced watermelon, black cherry and original Mountain Dew flavors in the hard seltzer lineup that were originally announced in August 2021.
Every can is 100 calories and 5% ABV and contains caffeine, but theres no added sugar but get this theres no caffeine either. The products are expected to hit shelves either this month or next. As for where thats anyones guess. The company says that the spiked seltzers will be released in a limited number of states.

Hard MTN DEWs development, production, and distribution are convoluted. But in the 11 days since its Feb. 22 debut, one thing has become clear from retailer reports: Drinkers are more than ready to get all jacked up on boozy Mountain Dew.

And how was Pepsi, which hadnt until now distributed alcohol, planning to legally and logistically move into this highly regulated space? The latter, at least, has an answer: Pepsi created a new business division, Blue Cloud, to seek alcohol distribution licenses in Hard MTN DEWs 17 proposed launch markets.
Its just the name, probably, he says.
How Baja Blast Fans Are Reacting To The News
Though this boozy new Hard MTN DEW flavor won’t even hit shelves for several more weeks, fans are naturally excited to hear about the new drink. Many have already taken to Twitter to express just how they feel about the launch. One celebrated, “THIS IS NOT A DRILL. WE’VE GOT HARD BAJA BLAST. WE DID IT Y’ALL.” While another simply wrote “Oh no,” to which one user replied “You meant to say oh yes, right?” The original poster responded “it’s a double edged sword.” Professional Halo player, Twitch streamer, and YouTuber Nick Kershner also weighed in, “this is not good for my future.” Clearly, die-hard Baja Blast Mountain Dew fans can’t wait to get their first can of the new spiked soda, even if they admit it might not be great for them long term.
A few Twitter users were disappointed in the hard seltzer, with one tweeting a GIF of Patrick Bateman from the film “American Psycho” along with a caption sharing their disappointment at the fact that it will be caffeine-free. A few others commented on a tweet from the brand announcing the new drink, unhappy that the drink will be “zero sugar.”
Regardless, it seems many Baja Blast fans of legal age are ready to review and report back once the drink is available.
