What Is Chlorogenic Acid
Chlorogenic Acid is the chemical found in green coffee that gives it most of it’s purported weight-loss effects. According to research, Chlorogenic Acid slows the release of blood sugar into the body after a meal, reducing insulin spikes and associated fat-storage. With companies popping up left-and-right selling “green coffee extract”, the only sure-fire way of ensuring that you’re getting a good product is to see the company’s Certificate of Analysis , which is a laboratory test used to determine the quantity of a chemical actually present in a supplement.
The ingredients on the label should list ONLY green coffee extract – no binders, no fillers, no artificial ingredients.

What Is The Healthiest Coffee
The healthiest choice of coffee is one that goes beyond organic. In addition to organic certification, you should look for coffee that is specialty grade, mold and mycotoxin-free, properly roasted in a smokeless machine, and third-party lab tested to ensure it’s free of harmful toxins.
Of course, these are the standards we put in place for our Natural Force Clean Coffee.
We lab test each batch of Clean Coffee for common coffee health offenders including the mycotoxins Ochratoxin A, Aflatoxin, Acrylamide, mold, fungus, yeast, and 165 different types of pesticides, so you know exactly what is – and isn’t – in your cup and in your body.
And, unlike most brands, we actually share our third-party lab results
Clean Coffee also tastes amazing, which is why we think it is the healthiest and tastiest coffee you will ever find!
What Is Fair Trade
Fair Trade refers to the system of buying and selling goods and commodities in a way which the local producers and communities involved in the growth and production of the commodity are honored and paid a fair wage. Fair trade also may include policies that honor the local natural environment involved in the production, as well as the promotion of people-to-people connections, fairness and sustainability.
Almost 85% of Fair Trade Certified coffee is also organic. And although organic, fair trade coffee is usually more expensive. The list below will offer some great reasons why you should consider supporting the international community of fair trade coffee producers, despite the slightly higher price per bean.

Is Organic Coffee Better For Health
Organic coffee is certainly healthier than its conventional counterparts due to the fact that its grown without health-harming pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides, but its not perfect.
For perspective, conventionally grown coffee is one of the most chemically-treated beverages on the market. On top of being grown with large amounts of chemical fertilizers and pesticides that can harm your health, these same chemicals often hurt both the coffee farmers and ecosystems that come in contact with them as well.
However, even organic coffee can fall short. For instance, organic certification doesnt address essential factors like the quality grade of the coffee beans or testing for mold and mycotoxins. The organic label also doesnt ensure that coffee manufacturers have roasted their beans with the safest methods to avoid unsafe byproducts and preserve coffees healthy antioxidants.

Why Buy Organic Coffee
Why is it important to drink Organic Coffee?
Weavers Coffee & Tea is my first choice for purchasing organic coffee beans or ground organic coffee because of the exquisite flavor profile and the fact that their organic coffees are known for being top quality arabica coffee beans.
Cheap coffee takes inexpensive coffee, roasts the coffee and blends it without concern for the quality of the finish product. Weaver’s Coffee & Tea takes beautiful coffee, only arabica green coffee beans, roasts the coffee perfectly, utilizing forty years of roasting knowledge, and then hand blends the different roasted coffee beans together to create incredible coffee blends. They also have a tantalizing line of single origin coffees.
Weaver’s Coffee has a unique selection of single origin coffees and coffee blends which have fantastic flavor profiles. Their coffeeshops near me are a great place to relax and enjoy their truly distinctive and addictive coffee.
When you drink Starbucks Coffee, Dunkin Donuts Coffee or Peet’s Coffee, you are drinking a massed produced coffee made by machines, using less expensive coffees.
Drinking organic coffee should be a major concern for the health conscious individual as well as drinking a coffee that is roasted properly. The importance and health benefits of organic food are well known, however, the health benefits of organic coffee beans and the way it is roasted are still not known to the majority of coffee drinkers.
So why is organic coffee important?

The Pitfalls Of Price Floors
First, understand that there are several distinct quality grades of coffee, each commanding different prices on the open market. Certified Fair Trade farms can produce multiple grades of coffee, yet they will only find limited buyers at Fair Trade prices due to limited demand.
Now, say the Fair Trade price floor of a bag of organic washed Arabica beans is $1.70. Your farm has produced two bags of this coffee, though of different quality.
The lesser bag fetches $1.50 on the open market, while the tastier beans garner $2.00. Of course, both bags regardless of quality grade qualify to be sold at the $1.70 price floor. You are a certified Fair Trade farm, after all.
Because Fair Trade coffee is a specialty product with limited demand, however, theres a buyer for justone of your bags at the Fair Trade price floor of $1.70, leaving you to sell the remaining bag on the open market as an ordinary commodity coffee at a price befitting its grade.
Thus, you are strongly incentivized to sell your lesser-quality bag under the Fair Trade label. Meanwhile, your premium organic washed Arabica commands full price, netting you a nice profit!
So, you plan your next harvest, and decide to cut costs even further on the bag that will get sold as Fair Trade the price is guaranteed by Fair Trade USA, so what do you care if it doesnt taste as good? Youre going to reallocate funds to make your premium bean even better.

Is Coffee Healthy For Weight Loss
Before I get into too many details, I first wanted to answer the question, is coffee healthy for weight loss? I believe that this simple question is important to address first because there are many unhealthy diet pills, fat burners, fad diets, and other methods of weight loss that simply are not healthy.
However, drinking coffee for weight loss is healthy because coffee is natural and has a limited risk of side effects as long as you are not drinking more than 400mg of caffeine per day .
There are also several other benefits of drinking coffee, along with helping promote weight loss.
With that being said, here are a few of the reasons why drinking coffee to lose weight is a great weight loss hack:
The National Organic Program
To administer and enforce the standards set by the OFPA, the USDA created an agency and regulatory body known as the National Organic Program. The NOP has a three-pronged function:
There have been and continue to be a few issues with the NOP in practice, however.

No Pesticides And Herbicides
If you drink conventional coffee, you might be drinking pesticides and herbicides with your coffee. The thing is that all non-organic beans are sprayed with plenty of pesticides and herbicides.
Moreover, coffee beans are one of the most heavily sprayed agricultural crops. Thats why I always buy organic coffee!
Accreditation Loopholes Who Watches The Watchmen
Youd probably assume agents accredited by the NOP to hold an advanced degree, extensive experience in the organic agricultural industry, or both. Youd also expect them not to hold any conflicts of interest which could influence their decision on who theyll give the organic certification to.
Surprisingly, this isnt always the case. Certifying agents dont even have to be part of the US government. They can be private individuals or entities, and they dont even have to be American.
In fact, the USDA has specifically not followed through establishing a peer-review committee to vet applicants, even though the OFPA specifically allows them to do so.
Were not going to delve into speculation as to why this seemingly basic step hasnt been taken to ensure the integrity of the organic label. But the point is, they havent, and the lack of transparency is unsettling.
Also worth thinking about is the fact that food producers including coffee growers will often approach multiple certifiers to hedge against the possibility of one denying them that coveted, premium organic label. If the process of vetting was airtight and the standards rigorously upheld, there wouldnt be the perception that different certifiers would yield different verdicts.

Many Reasons Why Organic Is Best
The most obvious reason for buying organic, that is, the lack of chemicals in your cup, is unlikely to be valid.
However, there are many other reasons, including protecting the farmers and their communities, protecting the environment and encouraging biodiversity. Some even say organic coffee tastes better.
Any one of these alone is a good argument for looking for the organic label when you buy coffee when you take them together, the case becomes compelling.

Organic Coffee Can Contain Mold And Mycotoxins
Just because a coffee is organic, that doesn’t mean its free of harmful mold and mycotoxins. Often, due to poor processing and storage, coffee beans can grow mycotoxin-producing mold which can cause a wide variety of health issues.
Exposure to mold and mycotoxins can cause fatigue, sinus infection, mitochondrial function, memory problems, brain fog, night sweats, hair loss, DNA damage, liver disease, kidney disease, Alzheimers disease, Parkinsons disease, and cancer.
So be sure to read the packaging and find evidence of third-party testing to make sure your coffee is mold and mycotoxin free!

Flavor Notes And Aroma
Aroma, body, acidity, and flavor combined define how your coffee will taste
This is an important consideration that must be taken into account before selecting organic coffee. The flavor, notes, and aroma are a direct result of the type of soil the coffee comes from, as well as the degree of roast, unless other flavors are added artificially to create richer and more flavorful notes and aroma. There are all kinds of coffee drinkers who are now switching to organic coffee beans. However, taste preferences, like sweet, nutty, chocolaty, or smoky flavors do not change. Our list of the best organic coffee beans has a wide range of note and aroma choices, from the naturally earthy and bittersweet flavor of Peetâs Coffee Organic French Roast Whole Bean Coffee, to the smokey cigar notes of Cigar Blend Coffee 12 oz. Is Coffee Good For You
Coffee is already known to be healthy. It is a nutrient-dense drink that’s full of potassium, magnesium, niacin, antioxidants and over 1,000 bioactive compounds. The British Medical Journal, for example, has published research that shows that some of the nutrients in coffee may be linked to helping to prevent conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, Parkinsons disease, and liver conditions. To add to that, caffeine is associated with boosting the metabolism and improving athletic performance.
Of course coffee can be dehydrating, so don’t forget your 4L of water every day, but its fair to say that coffee is a superdrink.
Yet, that’s coffee in its natural state. As soon as you start using pesticides to commercially grow coffee, you threaten to negate all of those benefits. Let’s talk about pesticides.
