How Many Calories Are In C4 Energy Drink
All of the series under C4 Energy are calorie-free.
Considering that the recommended daily calorie intake is between 2000 calories to 2500 calories , C4 Energy being calorie-free would mean your overall diet wont be affected.
That said, since C4 Energy lacks any calories, most of your energy would come from its caffeine content.
You must also remember that C4 Energy shouldnt be a substitute for your meals, so if youre feeling peckish, you should grab something nutritious to eat first before heading down to the gym.

C4 Pre Workout Energy Drink Conclusion
Although there are some slight variations between C4 Pre Workout powder and the C4 Energy Drink Ingredients, they are quite comparable. C4 On the Go has all the necessary Caffeine and Amino Acids that can go up against most pre workout powders. These ingredients supplied me with the energy, increase strength and endurance to give me a much more intense workout.
After using C4 Pre Workout Drink, I would recommend giving it a try. At least keep it handy for when you dont have the time or the place to mix your powder. If after trying C4 premixed drink, your workout doesnt agree with the concentration of ingredients, you may have better luck with a powder form. This way you can make it as strong or as weak as you like.
Im not really a carbonation type of guy, but in this case, I really like the way it felt. The flavors that I tried tasted great, and there wasnt any bitterness from these potent ingredients.
I hope you learned more about the key ingredients for C4 performance, and I hope this helps to give you more information on the more convenient C4 drink options. Dont forget to try the C4 Energy Gummies and the C4 Pop Rocks, popping energy rocks!

How About A Little Caffeine
Across the board, one of the most prevalent ingredients in pre-workout supps is caffeine. And with good reason it works!
For example, a 8.4 oz. can of Red Bull has 80mg of caffeine, which is about the same as a cup of coffee and twice as much as a 12 oz. Coke. A scoop of C4 Extreme has 135mg. Keep in mind that many people take 2 scoops before a workout. Thats a shit ton of caffeine.
Now I dont have a sensitivity to caffeine but there a lot of people who do.
And while the labels of these supps usually tells us the caffeine content, the rest starts to get a little fuzzy.
The main problem with the labels is that we really dont know whats in it because each product has their own unique proprietary blend of energy boosters.
For example, here is the label for C4 and Jack3D :
We can see some of the ingredients listed out with their doses, including 135 mg of caffeine for C4 and 100mg for Jack3D, but what about the rest of the Explosive Energy Blend or Proprietary Blend?
Sure they tell us the active ingredients, but we have no idea in what doses. This is significant because every person is going to have a different tolerance to different blends and it comes down to a matter of Russian Roulette, where we just have to try the supplement to see if it fucks us up.
Essentially, we are just trusting that it will work and that it wont kill us!

Scientific Perspective On Pre
There is enough scientific evidence behind pre-workout supplements. Several studies reveal that pre-workouts improve physical and mental performance in different ways. These benefits are validated in many peer-reviewed studies and placebo-controlled clinical trials.
In one study, researchers discovered that pre-workout supplements could be an effective ergogenic aid for active persons. According to the researchers, this is another way of saying pre-workouts enhance the performance of people at the gym. This study was published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
Similarly, other studies confirm the cognitive benefits of pre-workout formulas. More than half of all pre-workout supplements available today contain caffeine, which is one of the most popular cognitive boosters. In one study published in the Journal of Alzheimers Disease, researchers discovered that caffeine could boost arousal, concentration, and mood. This could help users focus on their workouts.
Additionally, caffeine delivers proven physical benefits. As confirmed in one study, researchers discovered that caffeine could enhance endurance during a workout, thereby helping participants to perform longer before they felt tired. That could mean longer and more challenging workouts with increased levels of performance throughout the session.
How Much Caffeine Should You Have Before A Workout
Before a workout, the minimum caffeine intake to have reliable, significant effects is 150mg. This is why we see 150mg as the lower limit of caffeine in pre-workout supplements and often in energy drinks, etc.
The upper limit is hard to really pinpoint. Daily caffeine intake is safest below 400mg, but this includes everything you take all day including those coffees or soft drinks. These add up and its not a good idea to jump in with 400mg of caffeine pre-workout!
We recommend starting at 150mg and slowly easing up as appropriate. Youll also need less caffeine to get the same effects if you take time off and cycle your pre-workout .
So, youre looking for anywhere between 150mg and 300-400mg before your workout. We recommend taking your time, however, and use a product with a reasonable caffeine-per-serving to give yourself more control over each dose.

The C4 Ingredient Conclusion
The ingredients in C4 Original are a simple blend of Caffeine and Amino Acids and seem to work great in combination. I guess it should be a great product coming from the largest pre workout manufacturer.
Ive used C4 Original many times, and their simple combination of ingredients works very well. It gave me the energy, motivation, strength, and performance that I needed for an intense workout.
I was impressed that C4 packs such a punch having only 150mg of Caffeine when some pre workouts can contain twice as much.
The one thing that I have seen yet is a C4 Caffeine-Free version for those that are Caffeine intolerant. If you are interested in the brands that offer Caffeine Free pre workouts click here.
The C4, as well as other pre workouts, are not FDA approved, but the ingredients that they contain are.
If any pre workout was ever deemed unsafe, the FDA will pull it from the shelves. From my research, I dont see any ingredients that dont belong so I feel that C4 is a safe choice.
C4 keeps it simple with its ingredient list, and I think this is a good thing. Sucralose, which is an artificial sugar, is actually derived from sugar. However, there are mixed reviews about its long term effects The artificial coloring is found in foods everywhere, but in pre workout supplements you are consuming a very small amount of it.
I hope you enjoyed this review. If you have any questions or comments about C4 pre workout ingredients, please leave a comment below and I will respond.
What Does 600 Mg Of Caffeine Do To You
The Food and Drug Administration says 600 mg per day is too much. While everyones tolerance is different, getting more than your normal amount could make you feel nervous, anxious, irritable, jittery, and could cause excessive urine production or irregular heartbeat, says caffeine researcher Maggie Sweeney, Ph.

What Are People Saying About C4 Original
Looking at Cellucors official website the reviews are unsurprisingly very positive indeed. In fact we couldnt find a bad one negative which seems suspicious!
On the big retail websites such as Amazon.com and Bodybuilding.com the reviews were on the whole positive.
People found it gave them energy, strength and focus in the gym, but many reported getting side effects such as jittery sensations and itchiness.
Looking at more independent websites we see a different story. Complaints about no muscle pump and no focus makes sense considering the ingredient profile.
Another issue that seem to come up was that users were building up a tolerance rather quickly, meaning they have to take more and more to get the same amount of energy.
In conclusion we can say C4 is a solid pre workout blend, but there seems to be a lot of fan boys trying to make out that it is the perfect product.
Remember to look at the nutrient facts and to decide for yourself.
Why C4 Pre Workout F*cking Sucks
As someone whos been involved in the fitness industry for nearly a decade, let me tell you that a lot of supplements are scams. Theres one that every bro and his cousin recommends however, and thats the C4 pre workout. Does it live up to the hype, though?
They claim that its how you get big bro, but is it really? Well in my experience, C4 pre workout is extremely mediocre, but thanks to expert marketing, great branding, and a lot of hype, theyve managed to catapult it to the top selling pre-workout of all time.
When you first start working out, dozens of questions circle your mind:
- Whats the best pre workout available?
- Do I need a pre workout?
- What are the benefits of taking a pre workout?
and while no one article can answer all of these questions, Im going to try my best to touch upon all of them. Ive tried everything from illegal, black market pre workouts like JACK3D to run of the mill pre workouts like C4, and heres my honest review of the latter.

Factors We Used To Rank Top Pre
All pre-workout supplements promise to deliver energy, stamina, and endurance to help users boost their workouts. However, not all pre-workouts live up to this promise. To separate the best and the worst pre-workout formulas on the market today, our editorial team used the following factors:
Scientifically verified ingredients and dosages
Manufacturers use different ingredients to make pre-workout supplements depending on their goals. This ranking wasnt biased towards any particular pre-workout. However, our team considered pre-workouts with scientifically verified ingredients and dosages. Many manufacturers use the right ingredients at the wrong dosages. Some manufacturers also use weak dosages but hide them behind proprietary formulas. Other companies advertise their substantial dosages upfront.
Some pre-workout manufacturers exaggerate their advertised benefits. For example, some manufacturers claim their products can supercharge fat-melting and help users lose up to 30 pounds overnight. Others claim their pre-workouts can help users become Arnold Schwarzenegger within just a few days. Our team focused on companies that were honest with their advertised benefits.

C4 Pre Workout Review
This post may include affiliate links. See our affiliate policy for more details.
There are a lot of pre-workout options out there, and one of the bigger names is C4 Pre Workout. Just because its a well-known brand doesnt mean that it holds up in terms of quality and effectiveness. Below we take a look at everything you need to know about C4 Pre Workout in general, including the ingredients and whether or not its a good option.
Can I Double Scoop C4 Original
We would say yes but be aware if you have a low tolerance!
Two scoops would give you 300mg of caffeine which is the maximum we normally recommend you consume.
However the Explosive Energy Blend does contain Theacrine listed as an unknown quantity. This is also a stimulant similar to caffeine.
There is no way of really knowing the overall effectiveness without the knowing the dosage.
The other thing to look out for would be the beta-alanine. Two scoops gets you 3.2mg which is still safe and within our recommended limits. But be prepared for heightened itching and tingly side effects.

Cellucor C4 Nutrition And Ingredients
Theres no information about calories, but we do know there are a lot of vitamins: 400 percent of your daily Vitamin C, over 500 percent of your daily B12, and 150 percent of your daily niacin . Theres also 62 percent of your daily folic acid and 25 percent of your daily B6.
But those arent the main attractions. The most important ingredients are the 1.6 grams of beta alanine, 1 gram of creatine nitrate, 1 gram of arginine alpha ketoglutarate, and the Explosive Energy Blend, which has 150mg of caffeine and an undisclosed amount of tyrosine, velvet bean seed extract, and theacrine.
Finally, there are the Other Ingredients: natural & artificial flavors, the anti-caking agent silicon dioxide, the artificial sweeteners sucralose and acesulfame potassium, and red food dye number 40.
Note that you can also pick up some C4 in a handy can format. The ingredients are quite different: theres no Vitamin C, folic acid, creatine, arginine, or velvet bean extract. Instead of 425mg of an Explosive Energy Blend its 6.73 grams of an Explosive Performance Energy Blend which contains citrulline malate, beta-alanine, betaine anhydrous, tyrosine, and 200 milligrams of caffeine. So the canned drink is higher in caffeine than the scoop.
No calories, 200 milligrams of caffeine, plus a blend of common pre workout ingredients that citrulline, beta-alanine, betaine, and tyrosine.
Comparing It To C4 Extreme
But lets be frank: in terms of creatine, the one ingredient that has hundreds of successful research studies behind it, C4 Sport will contain more than C4 Extreme!
As long as they bumped the creatine up , yet kept beta alanine similar, this product has more useful active ingredients that C4 Extreme.
Why? Because the 1g of creatine nitrate in C4 Extreme is going to be about half a gram of creatine total. Thats nothing, and has probably hurt gains more than helped .
This is now discussed in far greater detail on our blog post titled Creatine is BROKEN and Your Pre Workout is to Blame.
However, this has nothing sexy in it that supplement shoppers in the know want to use. Lately, blends of more potent ingredients such nitrates , L-citrulline, and agmatine have been proven to work better than AAKG.
This product succeeds for its customer base
Thats all fine, because this isnt meant for supplement shoppers in the know.
Its meant for Wal-mart shoppers thinking of hittin the gym finally this new year. And for that, it actually succeeds quite well. Youll get great effects from most of these ingredients, and were guessing itll taste great .

What Happens When You Drink Too Much C4

Thus, it can lead to adverse side effects such as: Restlessness. Jittery feeling.
Cellucor C4 Ripped Sport Ingredients Explained
We like Cellucor. Only bias websites will say otherwise, and theres a reason why this company is held in such high regard theyve produced some extremely respectable supplements on the market in the past.
However, one thing we will say is this: we personally arent convinced by hybrid supplements, and prefer to buy specialized products. That means well buy a pre-workout to improve our performance in the gym, and well buy a fat burner when aiming to shred body fat.
Why? Because were not sure that any product is capable of doing both at the same time.
The reason why we dont choose to supplement hybrid supplements
Think about it. You take one serving of pre-workout before the gym, and Cellucor C4 Ripped Sport comes with 1 serving daily.
However, clinical studies show that thermogenic nutrients are best taken multiple times throughout the day.
There arent enough proven thermogenics in Cellucor C4 Ripped Sport to justify its ability to promote fat loss
An even bigger issue we have with Cellucor C4 Ripped Sport claiming to help you cut fat is the lack of thermogenic ingredients our favorite nutrients such as green tea extract havent been added.
Additionally, Cellucor has placed every ingredient in this pre-workout into 2 separate proprietary blends .
PROPRIETARY BLEND WARNING
This increases your risk of side effects, and also makes it uncertain whether Cellucor C4 Ripped Sport will work. For this reason, we try to avoid any supplement that contains proprietary blends.
