Starbucks is known for its specialty drinks, including several new variations on cold brew and nitro cold brew on tap. Instead of these specialties, we kept it simple and ordered a tall traditional black iced coffee with room for milk. It was on the more expensive side at $2.89 for 12 ounces.
The liquid-to-ice ratio was decent in the Starbucks coffee, although we had to pour some coffee out in order to make room for a little milk. The ice also melted quickly, and the coffee didn’t seem that cold to begin with. In terms of taste, it was on the stronger side, as well as a little bitter and burnt-tasting, despite the packet of sweetener.
Next time we go to Starbucks, we’ll probably opt for cold brew instead of regular iced coffee.

It is my preferred place to buy coffee, not just for the great price, but the stunningly high quality coffee machine, great quality beans, and my local 711 is always plush, clean and tidy. Im yet to have a bad Self-Serve coffee yet at this particular 711.

I have frequently wondered, what I am getting for my extra $1 or $2 for the larger sizes? So, I weighed the contents, using water, from empty and dry, up to the crease line at the top of each cup .
Here is what I discovered by measurement of volume with digital scales
- These are the 3 different sizes standard at most of the 711 stores around Australia
$1 Regular Coffee Cup Volume: 245ml
$2 Large Coffee Cup Volume: 385ml
$3 Super Coffee Cup Volume: 450ml
Difference between $1 Regular and $2 Large: 140 ml
Difference between $2 and Large and $3 Super: 65 ml
Difference between $1 Regular and $3 Super 205 ml
Total volume of 2 x Regular $1 Coffees 490ml.
To summarise, 2 x Regular Coffees at $1 each gives you approximately 1/2 a litre of coffee, in fact 40ml more than a a Super Coffee at at $3. i.e. 2 regular coffees at $2 is more coffee than a Super size at $3.
Its your choice but I know which I will be buying if I want value for money.
