What is so fantastic about this method is that you can virtually get your coffee to take any flavor you like. From cinnamon, to nutmeg, to cloves, to chocolate , to even flavors that are a bit on the spicier end if you are feeling bold. The possibilities are endless and that is the beauty of this process! So grab your favorite spices, tanker with the intensity in which you like it for your coffee to be, and enhance your coffee away!

Buying Flavored Coffee Beans

If you need a quick fix or dont have time to create your own flavors, buy flavored coffee beans from a roastery or online. Keep in mind that flavoring is often used to mask stale coffee beans. This isnt a dealbreaker, but youre definitely sacrificing the quality of beans for some flavor.

Make sure you know the manufacturer so you can support them. They likely will buy high-quality beans and infuse them with high-quality flavors. Oftentimes you can see where they source their beans and what ingredients they use right on their website.

If youre able, choose an Arabica bean these beans usually have the best results when the flavor is infused into them.

But lets be honest, most of us will be adding to store-bought. We are going to go with that metric. The general rule is 3% of the weight should be the flavor. Whatever amount of beans you are using, a pound, two pounds. Add 3% flavor of whatever the weight is.

Of course, you could add less if you only want a hint of flavor. If you like an underlying notion of nutmeg or dont want it to be like you are drinking an actual cup of rum, then you can do less.
