Brooklyn, New York-based Vietnamese coffee purveyors Nguyen Coffee Supply also utilize sweetened condensed milk, a traditional addition to Vietnamese coffee, in their take on icy-cold brews. If you cant decide between salty or sweet, Nguyen Coffee recommends this iteration of salted caramel coffee, inspired by classic cocktails and as robust as a freshly shaken martini.

Ingredients:

Directions: Combine condensed milk, brewed coffee, and regular milk in a cocktail shaker. Add sea salt. Add ice to the shaker. Place the lid on the shaker. Shake like you mean it. Add ice to a serving glass of your choice. Strain contents of shaker into glass. Garnish with a pinch of flaky sea salt. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Dunkin Donuts Frozen Coffee Recipe

Dunkin Donuts has a large fan base, especially for their coffee. Actually, the entire company is built on the principle of sourcing premium coffee and turning it into awesome drinks. More affordable than other coffee chains, theres nothing like visiting your local store for a caffeinated treat. But wait, there is: making your own Dunkin Donut-inspired coffee at home.

Coffee drinks are pretty straightforward. You often need less than four ingredients to craft fantastic beverages and making them is faster than waiting in line for the folks at the store to give you your coffee.

Today were making one of Dunkin Donuts favorites, the frozen coffee. Beautifully creamy, this particularly refreshing drink is popular because its still pretty strong, so you never feel cheated with a watered-down concoction.

To get this coffee specialty right, youll need powerful coffee, thats for sure. There are several ways of doing this. You can double-brew your coffee in a percolator or you can also use a concentrated instant coffee with at least two heaping tablespoons of freeze-dried coffee. The third way of getting strong coffee is by adding two espresso shots. Finally, my favorite using cold brew coffee.

Were not done yet. We want a frozen coffee, not just an iced one, so were using a regular silicone ice cube tray to freeze our rich coffee. These dark ice cubes will give a gorgeous texture to your drink, especially when blended with milk.

How To Make A Blended Iced Mocha

Ive made this drink several different ways. Ive used straight liquid and added ice. Ive frozen the coffee into cubes and then added the almond milk. But my favorite way is to freeze the Almond Breeze® Chocolate first, then add to the blender with cold,;liquid coffee. Ive found this step simply makes the beverage creamier.

Most often Ill need to;add more Almondmilk after blending to thin it out, so have up to 4 ounces more on hand to do so. The amount will vary depending on the size and of your cubes, how frozen they are, and the power of your blender.

I discovered these silicone freezer trays at Ikea. Because theyre slender and smaller, they whiz up easier in the blender than the larger blocks produced by traditional freezer trays. And theyre flexible and bend, so popping out the frozen almond milk;iswella breeze.

Get it? Its a breeze? With Almond Breeze? I know. Im a terrible joke teller.

Ive found that sweetening the hot coffee with the sugar before letting it cool suits my sweet tastebuds. But if you prefer your;mocha;even sweeter, simply stir in a bit of simple syrup.

To make simple syrup, stir 1 tablespoon of sugar into;1 tablespoon of boiling water, cool, and add to the drink. You dont want to add straight sugar into the blended drink because;it wont dissolve.

And;if you have a few more extra calories to spare, be like Smudge and add whipped cream and chocolate sauce, then slurp your way to the bottom through the biggest straws you can find.

Frozen Iced Coffee With Ice Cream

Lets face it, this recipe is part drink and part dessert. You might even classify it as a coffee shake!;

However you want to label it, its just plain good! Ice cream is the key to making it thick and satisfying. And if you want to make it even thicker you can add an extra scoop in the blender before mixing.;

Alternatively, you can add an extra scoop of ice cream to the glass and then pour the iced coffee mixture over it. Serve it with a spoon and a straw.

HOSTESS TIP: For entertaining, make a larger batch up to 2 hours ahead and keep it in the freezer to keep it chilled until ready to serve.;

One of the challenges of iced beverages in the heat is the ever-melting ice, watering down your cold coffee. Milos solution is effective, and fun to execute: Make ice cubes out of coffee, so your beverages stay the same strength from start to finish.

Using a pour-over filter, brew double-strength coffee directly over a carafe of ice. Let iced coffee sit until cool or room temperature. Pour into an ice tray and place in the freezer. Use cubes individually as desired, in an already prepared cold brew, or add to milk for an iced latte effect.

If you like a creamier or sweeter pop, you can experiment with adding sugar or milk into the pop molds before freezing.

Dont Feel Obligated To Add Tons Of Mix

Many Frappuccino naysayers claim these drinks include too many added ingredients that chocolate syrup, crushed cookies or caramel completely eclipse the coffee flavor. If you share these concerns, then take comfort from the words of Raffaello Van Couten of Eleva Coffee in Brooklyn, New York: Keep it simple, keep it delicious. Consumers want a wow factor, but dont want to think about it.

Want To Spike Your Frozen Coffee Pick A Flavorful Spirit That Packs A Punch

The combination of liquor and coffee spans innumerable cultures, and for excellent reason. When making a spiked frozen coffee, you can certainly choose an obvious spirit like coffee liqueur or Irish cream. But Egor Polonskiy, manager of trade education and mixology at Patrón, challenges you to get creative.

Frozen coffee is a unique drink concept, you can use a variety of different spirits as a base, Polonskiy said. I recommend finding something that has a lot of flavor, complements your coffee, and has enough proof to stand out in a drink.

A dark roast instant coffee will give you a flavor profile closer to Starbucks, whereas a medium roast may be closer to something youd get at your local shop, advised Ian Kolb, manager of CupLux Coffee in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completely dissolve the instant coffee in 2 ounces of water, preferably hot. Pour the coffee into the blender and then add the remaining ingredients into your blender. Blend until you reach your desired consistency.
