The espresso is robust, and the Americano is just about right. The Lungo is too buzzy for use, and the coffee is like water. They taste like water but more on them later. I use pre-ground coffee since I use decaf or sometimes want different beans.

You can adjust the grind to one of 12 settings too from coarse to fine. The large bean hopper can easily hold a pound of coffee and it. Seals up well too to keep beans from getting stale. The lower the grind setting, the finer the coffee beans are ground and the stronger the coffee. There are 12 different grind settings you can choose from.The machine has been set up to get the best taste out of your coffee beans. Philips recommends not to adjust the grinder settings until you have brewed 100-150 cups .Worth noting too is that you can use pre-ground coffee to make regular coffee.

While the LatteGo should be cleaned following every use, the Coffee Grounds Container and drip tray should be emptied weekly, but I’d recommend daily. These parts are easy to clean, remove and dishwasher safe.
The Brew Group, accessible by removing the water tank, needs weekly cleaning with a rinse under the tap, but it should also be lubricated with the included Grease tube every two months to ensure that all the many moving parts continue to move smoothly.
The AquaClean filter needs to be replaced every 3 months or after 95 liters have flown through. Luckily, you’ll only have to descale after 5,000 cups, which I haven’t gotten anywhere close to in the time I’ve owned this machine.

Overall Review: Philips 3200 Lattego Automatic Espresso Machine
I cant believe how impressed I was with this machine. The espresso is outstanding, its so easy to use and to clean. Its got a huge water tank and a smaller footprint than my Jura. I love that it has a ceramic burr grinder and that the brew group is removeable and easily cleans under running water. Ditto for the LatteGo container which cleans up well and couldnt be easier to use.
Downsides? For me, I feel like this machine needed emptying about every 4-5 days, compared to my Jura which only gets emptied about every 7-10 days.
But honestly, I am struggling to find something about this machine I didnt like. When it comes time for me to get a new automatic espresso machine I am absolutely going to make it a Philips 3200 with the Latte Go. And at $999 CAD its substantially more affordable than a lot of other similar machines.

Making Drinks With Philips 3200
I tried making a few different drinks on the Philips 3200. Double espressos were my daily go-to but I also tried a Latte and a cappuccino.
When you turn the machine on it will heat up and automatically rinse the machine without you needing to press any more buttons .
The espresso was great the shots brewed up pretty fast and I loved that the double shots were perfect doubles, not just double long shots. The espresso came out hot and creamy with a nice crema on top. I was actually really impressed with the overall quality of the espresso.
My fist cappuccino was a bit lackluster, since it was mostly milk and hardly any foam. It actually came out more like a small latte. There are markings on the milk container to guide how much milk to use for each drink but you can add more or less as you wish.

How’s Cleaning The Philips 3200 Lattego No Biggie
With its two-part milk frothing system, the Philips 3200 LatteGo scores well when it comes to cleaning, though in other respects, its on par with other good competitor products.
In other words, what should be removable is from the brew group to the milk container.
Its also great that you can remove the main things, such as the water tank, coffee grounds container and brew group from the front or side. So no need to fumble around blindly behind the super automatic.
Overall, I give the Philips fully automatic espresso machine a high score for cleaning. It really does make life easy.
Even more good news is the built-in water filter, which means less automatic descaling.

Philips 3200 Lattego Setup
Youll need a few hours and the manual to set up the Philips 3200 LatteGo. I turned to Philips YouTube videos, as the manual was very photo-heavy. Luckily, once you get used to using the machine, its pretty intuitive.
The first steps include rinsing the machine, activating the AquaClean filter, and testing the water hardness. You can use a test strip to determine water hardness and input your results. How hard your water is will determine how often youll have to descale , but the AquaClean filter makes it very infrequent.
When you start the machine, it takes two minutes to warm up. The machine will do an automatic rinsing cycle. Youll know its ready for use when all drink icons are lit up.
Once these setup steps are done, you can start experimenting with different coffee drinks. The machine will take about five brews to adjust to the correct coffee-to-serving ratio. The first few cups I brewed were decent coffee cups but a little weak, so remember to give it some time.
When youre done setting up, you can also adjust drink preferences, such as strength, quantity, and grind settings, and add cold milk to make milk-based beverages.
One unique thing is the order in which the Philips 3200 series makes a latte or a cappuccino. It first froths the milk and then adds the espresso. This isnt how cappuccino and latte are traditionally done, and a coffee snob wont agree with this , but the order doesnt affect the coffee flavor.
