What Is The Best Low Carb Coffee Creamer

Carb Free Coffee Creamer

Low carb coffee creamers atkins keto zero sugar

When I first decided to eat low carb, my coffee was my biggest stumbling block.

I used to drink my coffee with 2% milk and a couple tablespoons of sugar.

Yes, a couple of tablespoons.

I experimented with several combinations for low carb coffee including Splenda , no cream , half & half, you name it.

Splenda is 1 carb per packet.

Many of the cream options were at least 1 carb per serving as well.

My biggest issue was that I started by limiting my intake to 20 net carbs a day.

I surely didnt want to waste carbs in my coffee, considering how many cups I might like to drink in a day! That could add up quick, using up to half my daily limit on my coffee alone.

Id much rather save my 20 carbs for good stuff! Fortunately I found a carb free coffee creamer, and a combination for my coffee that I absolutely love

I switched to Heavy Whipping Cream and vanilla sugar-free coffee syrup.

You want to check the labels when buying Heavy Whipping Cream, as some of them have 1 carb per serving. I always choose the zero carb brands such as Kroger brand or Purity.

Like I said, I dont want to waste carbs in my coffee when there are better ways to spend them for the day!

The Torani sugar-free syrups are fabulous. They use Splenda, but they dont taste anything like using straight Splenda. They come in hazelnut, vanilla, french vanilla, chocolate, raspberry and probably other flavors. Ive found other uses for the syrups as well, including creating fun little desserts.

Is Coffee Creamer Keto

Have you been wondering if you can enjoy coffee creamer while still remaining on keto? Well, its a yes and no answer.

Most commercial coffee creamers that you will find in the grocery store are unfortunately loaded with sugar, artificial sweeteners, and tons of other ingredients honestly I cant even pronounce.

Who wants that? I know I dont, which is why we came up with a much cleaner and healthier low carb creamer.

What To Look For In Creamer Ingredients Lists

Before we get into specific creamers you can try, let’s talk about what you should look for, or rather, what you should avoid in your creamers.

Trans Fats. Obviously, you want to avoid trans fats anywhere you can. Unfortunately, some creamers particularly the rich, whole fat creamers are packed full of them. You’ll want to check the nutritional labels for your creamers and make sure you’re avoiding these as much as possible.

Excess sugar. A little bit of sugar isn’t really all that bad, but sweeteners for coffee are often packed to the gills with more sugar than you would have thought was even possible to saturate them. You can go for artificial sweeteners instead, but be aware that some of those aren’t necessarily any better for you.

Carrageenan. This ingredient is a chemical extracted from seaweed, and is used primarily to bind dairy proteins together to emulsify and thicken. This makes creamers thicker and richer, almost the same way gelatin does. Unfortunately, it has also been shown to cause inflammation and can trigger or exacerbate bowel diseases. It’s also largely unnecessary.

Now let’s talk about the kinds of creamers you can use, or at least give a try to see if you like them. Remember, a lot of these creamers will have a certain kind of flavor attached to them, so if you don’t like it, you don’t have to force yourself to use it. Just look for a different one on the list to try you’re sure to find something you like.

The Best Keto Coffee Creamer: What To Limit & Avoid

When you make the change to a ketogenic diet, you want to pay careful attention to what goes into your drinks, especially coffee. Though black coffee is keto-friendly, the ingredients that are commonly added to it are not.

This is why it is so important to pay attention to what goes into your coffee, especially the following ingredients:

To ensure that what you are drinking is healthy and keto-friendly, we recommend avoiding these common coffee additives and using the strategies below.

It contains six grams of protein and five grams of fat per tablespoon, so it can offer a hearty boost in a pinch, like a less-filling protein powder. The bag is a little bulky and we found it tough to reseal, so we suggest transferring it to an airtight container. Its also the most expensive creamer per serving on our list, costing about $1.10 per tablespoon. Once you open it, the first thing you literally need to do is take a whiff. The smell is absolutely heavenly, like coconut cotton candy. But in coffee, it doesnt taste nearly as sweet. Its buttery, nutty and has only a slight vanilla flavor once mixed into your mug. It dissolves decently with just a few stirs of a spoon, but expect some grains or clumps floating in or at the bottom of your cup.
