Eliquis is FDA-approved to reduce the risk of systemic embolism and stroke in people with AFib.
AFib is a type of irregular heartbeat. With this condition, you have an increased risk for blood clots forming in your heart. These clots can travel in your bloodstream and block blood vessels in other parts of your body, such as your kidneys or intestines. This is called a systemic embolism.
