Making The Iced Caramel Macchiato
The trick to this Iced Caramel Machiatto recipe is making the rich dulce de leche caramel syrup and layering the espresso and milk its way easier than you think too!
Start with an empty cup full of ice, then add a couple tablespoons of the syrup. Brew your espresso, and pour it very delicately over the milk of your choice I usually go with 2% but whole milk makes this drink extra creamy and over the top.
If you dont have dulce de leche at home , simply boil a can of sweetened condensed milk for 3 hours in a large pot of gently boiling water.

Cons Of Purchasing A Nespresso
- Price: This machine is not cheap like a traditional coffee maker. Its not even as cheap as most Keurigs. The machine I have, which comes with the Aeroccino, retails for roughly $180.
- Exclusive Pods: You cant purchase Nespresso pods anywhere like you can with Keurig pods. Because of this, I normally purchase my Nespresso pods on the Nespresso website or Amazon.
- Non-Organic Pods: As far as I know, Nespresso does not sell organic coffee pods. For some people, this is an absolute deal breaker and I completely understand why! Purchasing organic coffee is always best! If you want to keep your coffee organic, this may not be the machine for you.
My favorite way to make iced coffee, you wonât believe how easy it is to make! Iced coffee? What? Itâs cold where youâre at? Hold on a sec
Recently, Nespresso reached out to me, actually twice and said they wanted to send me a new VerturoLine machine to try out. The first time I said no thank you and and the second time, I almost said no. I have been curious though because I know some Nespresso diehard fans. I told them, Iâm a fan of another single serve coffee machine and weâll see if I like theirs too.
Iâll tell you why I fell in love with this machine. The coffees taste fantastic. The machine automatically shuts off when you donât use it, you donât have to remember to shut it off.
And be sure to check it out, Iâm giving away a Nespresso machine too!
Can You Store Leftover Iced Coffee In The Fridge
Yes and no. This really depends on how much of a coffee snob you are to be honest. If you’re used to a fresh brew, storing any leftovers in the fridge may not be a good idea. Cold brew typically lasts 2-3 days in the fridge if you’ve covered it properly the flavours will last a bit longer because it’s brewed cold.
However, drip coffee that has been chilled has a shorter shelf life before the robust coffee flavour starts to disappear and become stale. I wouldn’t recommend keeping it for more than 24 hours. However, there will be nothing inherently wrong with the coffee other than the taste so feel free to go ahead and judge by your taste buds.

Mix Or Shake With Ice
In whatever glass youd like to serve your drink from, add your ice. Put in as much as you want, though I recommend at least ¼ of the glass be ice so it gets properly chilled and you still have ice floating.
Add your coffee over the ice, and stir very well. Stir it for nearly a minute if you have to, until your glass starts to sweat on the outside. Thats a sign the drink is literally ice cold.
If youre using a shaker, add in just a few ice cubes and all the coffee. Or, as much as you can fit into the shaker without spilling the drink.
Put the cap on, and shake until you feel the drink is very, very cold.
Now, you can pour the whole thing into the serving glass, ice and all. Or, you can strain it and add no ice at all.
Its up to you, but I think the ice helps a whole lot.
If you have any milk or toppings or flavorings, now is the time to add them.
Can You Use Hot Coffee To Make Iced Coffee
As the coffee rages, pour it into a cup filled with ice, so that there are a few cubes that begin to melt as you add water over it. Once the water has reached room temperature, it dilutes and is ready to use. In a new cup filled with ice, transfer a little water, then the ice, once its floating away, and add the creamer if it tastes desired.

How To Make Your Own Simple Syrup
Boil equal parts of sugar and water. I like to do 1 of cup sugar and 1 cup of water and once cooled I store it in a pretty bottle in my coffee station!
You can even flavor your sugar syrup with different coffee flavor extracts.
I like adding a whole scraped vanilla bean, or you can also use coconut sugar for your syrup.

Why Should You Cold Brew Your Coffee
This coffee-making method has a few things going for it:
- The slow infusion pulls all the great coffee flavor from the beans .
- But it also leaves behind most of the compounds that can make coffee taste bitter and sour.
- This means that cold brewed coffee is incredibly smooth and almost sweet-tasting. Perfect for iced coffee.
You can also adjust the concentration of your cold brew coffee, making it stronger or less strong to suit your taste. Start with one cup of beans steeped in four cups of water. This will make a fairly concentrated coffee on its own, but its perfect for pouring over ice or mixing with milk or both. If that ratio of beans to water isnt quite to your taste, adjust it up or down until you hit the perfect balance for you.
I also really love that this method for making coffee actually saves me time in the morning. I make a big batch over the weekend, starting it on Saturday or Sunday night and straining it the next morning, and then stash it in the fridge for an easy coffee fix all week long.

Can You Put Hot Coffee On Ice
Technically, you can simply pour hot coffee over ice. But I wouldn’t recommend it!
The ice will water down your coffee, and it won’t get as cool either … and perfect Iced Coffee needs to be quite cold.
If you’d prefer to make your drink with hot coffee, then I’d recommend using coffee ice cubes instead of regular ones … that way your coffee won’t be diluted and watery tasting. To make coffee ice cubes, simply fill an ice cube tray with leftover coffee, then freeze overnight.
In the morning, stir a few coffee ice cubes into your freshly-brewed coffee. The cubes will cool off your coffee without watering down the flavor like regular ice would. Once your coffee has cooled, stir in sugar and milk to taste, then top off with regular ice or more coffee ice cubes.

Prepare Your Coffee To Be Brewed
Whether you want to use strong coffee or espresso is up to you. We prefer espresso, as the notes shine through when combined with milk. We recommend not using flavored coffee. If you want to make a flavored drink, you can add syrup at the end.
If you need to heat water because you are brewing your coffee manually, heat it to just below boiling or let it sit for a minute after boiling. The water should be between 195 and 205 degrees. Boiling water will burn the coffee, taking away the delicacy of the drink.
Can You Make Instant Coffee With Cold Water
We have tried making your drink with instant coffee in a few different ways. We have found that it works best to use a mixture of warm water, and cold water which will give you the best results for your coffee.
The ratio that we like to use is equal parts warm water and cold water giving you the perfect combination to dissolve your instant coffee. Check out our easy recipe for cold coffee that will be ready in a matter of seconds.

Making The Iced Vanilla Latte
Vanilla lattes are so easy to make and you dont need to splurge on an expensive vanilla bean to get good flavour with this syrup. Like the rest of the syrups here, the formula is pretty straightforward. Make a plain simple syrup by mixing boiling water and sugar together, then add in your flavouring of choice.
For this vanilla latte, I used plain old artificial vanilla extract but you could use the more expensive pure extract or opt for the vanilla bean if you can find them. But really, the vanilla latte is the easiest of all to make. Like the machiatto, start with an empty cup full of ice. Brew two espresso shots and pour them over the ice, then stir in 1 cup of milk and add vanilla syrup to your taste. Yum!
