Do They Still Make Caffeine Free Coke
Coca-Cola is producing Caffeine Free Coke in limited supply while it figures out how to adjust to the increased demand for sodas at home.
I have a family member who works for Coca-Cola. Even employees didnt initially know what was going on. She thought Coca-Cola stopped producing Caffeine Free Coke temporarily as a result of COVID-19 impacts on the supply of raw materials.
Later, she figured out the issue was actually a shortage of aluminum cans that caused Coca-Cola to limit the amount of flavors produced. So, its definitely a raw materials issue- aluminum! Who would have thought the shortage was cans?!?!?
In addition to the shortage of cans, there was also a massive shift in the demand from restaurants to homes. Manufacturers are still struggling with changing their supply from syrup tanks and fountain dispensers to cans and bottles packaged for home.
Diet Cherry Chocolate Dr Pepper
I believe this flavor failed because stores wouldn’t stock it. After seeing a commercial for it, I added it to my shopping list. I went to Wallmart, Winco, & Top Foods & none of them carried it. I kept my eye out for it all year, I asked coworkers if they’d tried it, I checked vending machines nothing.
> The stores failed to stock it simply because it didn’t sell, and that being because it tasted absolutely awful. A store in Houston resorted to $1/12 pack just to get rid of them. I had 1 and nearly gagged…..a pass-around taste test at a party confirmed my opinion. Ken 18:50, 4 December 2008
Also, shouldn’t Crystal Pepsi be listed in the flavors? I remembering it tasting different enough from regular Pepsi, IMO, it tasted much better.
> perhaps, but in the Pepsi article. This is about Dr Pepper……Ken 18:58, 4 December 2008
Is Diet Dr Pepper Caffeine Free
Dr Pepper is the number one brand of diet soft drinks in the world. It is a well known brand that sells a variety of different diet drinks. However, not all diet sodas are created equal. There are diet drinks that actually contain caffeine which can have a negative impact on your health if you consume too much of it over a period of time. To find out if Dr Pepper is diet caffeine free pop a bottle and find out for yourself.
One of the things that makes diet Dr Pepper a great choice for people who want to lose weight is the fact that there is no calorie included. This is not true with many diet sodas that actually have a high amount of calories in them. The problem is that the Dr Pepper diet pops that they offer are very low in calories. Many people do not believe that dieting can be easy. When they find out that there is actually a diet soda product that is free of calories they will start to enjoy drinking it.
Many people find that they are able to lose weight and stay in shape when they add diet sodas to their daily routine. It is a great way to get into shape without having to make a major change to your diet. However, you should watch the amount of diet soda you consume so that you do not become dependent on it. How To Identify Caffeine
In addition to the sodas discussed above, many other types exist. If you want to know whether your favorite pop contains caffeine, theres a hard-and-fast way to tell.
In the United States, sodas that contain caffeine are legally required to disclose this information on the label. Even so, manufacturers often leave out the amount of caffeine .
Look for the statement contains caffeine near the nutrition facts label or ingredient list. If the label doesnt mention caffeine, its safe to assume that your soda is caffeine-free .
In addition, many caffeine-free sodas are marketed as such to appeal to people who avoid this stimulant.
In the United States, sodas that contain caffeine must state so on the label. Caffeine-free sodas will not have this disclosure.
Why Is There An Aluminum Shortage
Nothing has changed with the supply of aluminum. But, with so many people working from home and eating out less, the demand for sodas in aluminum cans has skyrocketed. Similarly, the demand for soda from restaurant fountain machines has dropped.
For things to get back to normal, well all need to go back to work. Or, the world will need to figure out how to produce a lot more aluminum for cans.

Not A Cola And Caffeine
Unlike Coca-Cola and Pepsi, Dr Pepper is not a cola. When i clicked on cola, it said it was a carbonated, caramel-colored soft drink. so what exactly about Dr Pepper makes it not a cola? Also, does Dr Pepper contain caffeine? if it didn’t it would be a great drink to have for people who don’t want to rely on caffeine to stay awake. — Bubbachuck 03:43, 29 August 2005
- The flavour of Dr Pepper is unlike that of cola. While all colas are caramel-colored soft drinks, not all caramel-colored soft drinks are colas. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen caffeine-free Dr Pepper on the shelves before but I’m not 100% certain, so I believe regular Dr Pepper is caffeinated. mendel 11:27, August 29, 2005
- Dr. Pepper has caffeine, and Caffeine-Free Dr. Pepper exists, but is fairly uncommon. The flavour of Dr. Pepper is sometimes referred to as a “spiced cherry”. —Tim Rhymeless 02:11, 30 August 2005
- It is worth noting that in Canada, Dr Pepper contains caffeine as an ingredient. For some bizarre reason, the only soft drinks that are permitted to add caffeine in Canada are colas. Not even root beers like Barq’s can have added caffeine. So for what it’s worth, the Canadian government considers Dr Pepper to be a cola! — Hiddekel 08:30, 08 September 2005
- Barq’s in Canada does indeed have Caffiene. User:CorSter, 01/14/06

Be A Pepper Who Did It
I noticed the current version of this article states Barry Manilow as the guy responsible for the “Be a Pepper” campaign. Other places I’ve seen say news composer Frank Gari. Considering an early-1970s McDonald’s commercial jingle was erroneously attributed to Manilow, can someone source this being by Manilow? WAVY 10 Fan 21:23, 27 February 2008
- I was just thumbing through my copy of “The Legend of Dr Pepper/Seven-Up” — the only mentioning of the “Be a Pepper” campaign I could find is on page 70. It reads: “In the early Seventies , advertising agency Young and Rubicam helped Dr Pepper refine its logo, creating the version that is still in use today. The agency also created the catchy and successful ‘Be a Pepper’ campaign.” I’m going to go ahead and remove the mentioning of Manilow, but who knows! He may have been part of that agency. Product Placement In Movies
In the 1970s, a Dr Pepper bottle can be seen in the film Let It Be. It is unknown whether this was a reference to the original title of the Beatles’ ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’, which was ‘Dr Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’. In the 1985 movie The Return of Godzilla, new scenes shot in the United States showed a Dr Pepper machine very prominently at the end of a hallway.
In 1986, the movie Short Circuit included many advertisements for Dr Pepper, including the old slogan used by the main protagonist Johnny 5. In the “Hate Plague” story arc in the Transformers animated series, the character Wreck-Gar infects Rodimus Prime with the line “I’m a Pepper. Wouldn’t you like to be a Pepper too?” Also, in the 1981 film, The Cannonball Run, actor Dom DeLuise can be seen singing the “I’m a Pepper” jingle while running out of a Mini-Mart.
In the 1990s, the movie Blast from the Past has a character played by Christopher Walken whose wife prepared hot Dr Pepper. There was an actual campaign in the early 1960’s to serve Dr Pepper hot with slices of lemon as a winter drink. The police investigators at the beginning of Blast from the Past can be seen reeling in disgust at his having it prepared hot. Dr Pepper is also featured in many of Tom Hanks’ 1990s movies, most notably in Forrest Gump. Bottles of Dr Pepper are also shown on a table behind the characters in That Thing You Do! when they are examining their new Play-Tone record.

Dr Pepper In Australia
I remember having drank Dr. Pepper in my youth, and I know it was a readily-available drink here in Australia, but now it’s not on supermarket shelves or available from fast-food outlets which sell other Cadbury-Schweppes drinks , at least where I live. What is the current status with Dr. Pepper and Australia? Is it available in other states?
I do remember it for its similar-to-cough-syrup taste. Any help on this, and possible mentioning in the article , would be appreciated. Taylor 08:32, 14 July 2006
- OK, I found the mention in the article – only found in some regions. Gotcha. If there is anyone who is Australian and wants to import some Dr. Pepper, I recently found a website which imports US foods, sodas, and drinks. I’m not the owner, just plugging it for those who would like to have some more cough-syruppy goodness ) USA FoodsTaylor 08:38, 14 July 2006
- I always get weird looks from counters and waiters when asking for some Dr Pepper in Australia. Any one know if the backlash against the drink was that harsh or what else prompted its non-distribution in Australia? RandomEcho 14:25, 11 September 2006
First of all – what happened to the Australian section of this article? There are many edits to trawl through, but Im sure it had one a few months ago?
Why Is There A Dr Pepper Shortage In The Us
Dr Pepper fanatics are finding it hard to locate the popular soft drink in stores across the U.S. The company has acknowledged a shortage and said it’s looking to rectify the situation as soon as possible.
“We know it’s harder to find Dr Pepper these days. We’re working on ithang tight!” the Dr Pepper Snapple Group said on Twitter yesterday.
The company didn’t specify why there is a shortage in its tweet, but confirmed it is working with “distribution partners to keep shelves stocked nationwide.”
The company advised that the shortage applies to all flavors of Dr Pepper, including new flavor Dr Pepper & Cream Soda.
Coca-Cola has also experienced a shortage during the coronavirus pandemic. “Due to extreme demand on certain products we are temporarily putting our focus on producing more of those beverages,” the company tweeted, in response to a request for Cherry Vanilla Coke Zero.
Home consumption of certain food and drinks has increased due to the temporary closures of restaurants and bars, combined with the fact that people are spending more time at home. There have also been instances of panic buying.
A representative from the American Beverage Association told Newsweek:“Beverages in convenient take-home packages like aluminum cans are particularly popular right now, and beverage company employees are doing all they can to make sure store shelves remain fully stocked.”

Anonymous Edits From Leeds University Ips Regarding Dr Pepper And Prune Juice
There’s been a number of rather annoying anonymous edits from IPs registered to the University of Leeds , substituting a paragraph discounting rumours regarding prune juice as a Dr Pepper ingredient with this paragraph:
There is a popular urban legend that Dr Pepper contains prune juice. There is more recentley a counter-urban myth which claims this is untrue However, as the drink contains a number of ingredients which the company continue to conceal, there is no way of proving or disproving this claim. So therefore, credit must be given to the widely heard, yet unsubstantiated rumor, that it DOES contain prune juice, rather then the uncommon unsubstantiated rebuke.
The edit summary said “Not reckless, a clear and reasoned argument. To remove this is to claim you can prove it contains Prune Juice, if you’re basing your judgement on an anonymous web link – not very scientific is it?”
I undid this twice now. The so-called “anonymous web link” actually did provide a fair number of sources for its claims. Also, I included an additional reference link to an official reference from drpepper.com explicitly stating that Dr Pepper does not contain prune juice. Case closed unless somebody can prove the contrary.

Dr Pepper And High Fructose Corn Syrup
|This section does not cite any references or sources. Please improve this section by adding citations to reliable sources. Unverifiable material may be challenged and removed.|
Much of the soft drink industry in the United States stopped using sugar in the 1980s, in response to a series of price supports and import quotas introduced beginning in 1982 that increased the price of sugar above the global market price. As a result, most U.S. soft drinks, including Dr Pepper, now use high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar.
A handful of U.S. bottling plants still use sugar to sweeten Dr Pepper. Perhaps best known is the Dr Pepper bottling plant in Dublin, Texas, the product of which is known as Dublin Dr Pepper. In the 1980s, plant owner Bill Kloster refused to convert the plant to high fructose corn syrup. Since 2003, Dublin Dr Pepper has expanded its distribution to most of Texas and the Internet. Other bottlers still using sugar include Temple Bottling Company, in Temple, Texas, Ab-Tex in Abilene, and West Jefferson Dr Pepper of West Jefferson, NC.
On March 25, 2007, Coca-Cola bottlers in the Dr Pepper Heartland commenced sales of 16 ounce cans of Dr Pepper made with cane sugar and featuring a logo with ‘Old Doc’ himself on them. This product is scheduled to be a limited time release.
Free Dr Pepper For Everyone In America
A careful distinction needs to be made here. If the above was the slogan used, then fine. But if the offer is only good for the US, then the explanation should use “United States” and not “America” as it now does. Loganberry 01:28, 24 November 2008
That is indeed how it was advertised.

Vandalism And Edits Needed
Hi there… Thank you for all you do to help Wikipedia!!! Perhaps this article has been vandalized. I just did a quick edit to remove a piece of pretty clear vandalism in the Overview and history section… Also, at least the Overview and history needs editing now – it starts with “Waco, Texas, in 1885.”Thank you!!
I don’t think there is a Dr Pepper clone named “Dr Wanker” here in Sweden . Perhaps someone could verify this? Anstalt 01:01, 20 May 2007
Some of the later clones seem pretty unlikely and like vandalism to me. Stuff like ‘”Dr. Dre” distributed by Rap Co.’ or ‘”The Doctor” sold by Who Corp’ for example. It would be best if someone knowledgeable could check this. But since it’s probably quite hard to check everything, I propose deleting every imitation where the company is a redlink, and link the ones without link. 188.8.131.52 15:05, 14 August 2007
There are a couple websites that list and even review so of the Dr Pepper clones — perhaps we should only keep those that are cross-listed? In the meantime, I will go through the current list and remove the ridiculous ones now. Of course, if I remove a valid one, be sure to inform me. Dan 04:56, 15 August 2007
