And that is the smell of freshly roasted coffee.
Unfortunately, most people dont realize that roasting coffee at home isnt much more difficult than baking bread. In some ways, its even easier!

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees and spread your green beans out evenly on a baking sheet.
Place in the oven for 10 minutes, then take out and stir. Put back in the oven and roast until the desired roast is obtained, taking out to stir about every 2 minutes.

Since green coffee is much like an uncooked steak or potato, it needs to be cooked so we can enjoy it.

Roasting is about applying the correct amount of temperature in the proper amount of time to bring out the most outstanding flavors of the coffee bean.
- Too much heat and youll end up having coffee with a bitter charcoal flavor.
- Too little heat and youll have coffee that tastes very acidic and grassy.
