A variation on Starbucks Doubleshot on Ice, which was first introduced in 2015, the classic Iced Shaken Espresso is a blend of Starbucks Espresso with a dash of 2 percent milk that is all hand-shaken together to give you a one-of-a-kind, frothy texture that elevates a traditional iced coffee to a whole new level. This drink is subtly sweet and takes a classic iced coffee to the next level.

When I Finally Got My Hands On One It Looked More Like A Traditional Starbucks Drink With No Discernible Cinnamon Topping Or Foam

This second drink wasn’t quite as good as I remembered. I couldn’t taste any cinnamon, and the brown sugar syrup had less flavor than my first one potentially because it had fewer pumps, or perhaps because it had been shaken a different way.

Overall, it was still tasty, but not in a “change my Starbucks order forever” way.

How To Order Any Iced Lattes At Starbucks

Homemade Starbucks Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso!

Ordering an iced latte at Starbucks is as simple as finding your nearest Starbucks and speaking to the barista.

However, there are some tips to help you get the drink you really want:

Think About The Flavors You Like

Some Starbucks drinks are really sweet, but others are much more bitter.

Most iced lattes are sweet, but you can find some unique flavors which still have the bold taste of coffee.

Just remember that there are a lot of Starbucks lattes to try, and you don’t have to settle for an iced caramel macchiato-style drink. Check the menu fully and speak to your barista to see all the latte options.

    Remember Your Extras

Starbucks is so popular because they let you customize your drink. This means you can take a classic iced latte and add the ingredients you love the most.

The most common additions include syrups, vanilla sweet cream cold foam, caramel drizzle, and salted caramel cream. If you’re a chocolate lover, you can also add white chocolate mocha sauce or chocolate malt powder.

Just remember to pick additions that match your drink, and if you’re not sure, you can speak to your barista.

    Get Your Caffeine Fix

If you usually order nitro cold brews, you might think lattes will be too weak, but the truth is that most Starbucks iced lattes have a lot of caffeine.

Plus, you can add in extra shots of espresso to increase the energy boost if you really want to.

S To Make An Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso

Not only is it easy to make this drink, but its fun, too. Here are the steps to make it.

Step 1: Scoop ice into shaker.

Did you know all Starbucks drinks are made with filtered water and filtered ice? I imagine thats why they always so taste fresh and crisp.

If you dont already have filtered water, I highly recommend getting a Brita filter pitcher. This way you can use it to make filtered ice in trays.

Step 2: Add brown sugar syrup.

If you dont have a bottle of brown sugar syrup youve got two options.

  • Make a batch of homemade brown sugar simple syrup. All you need is brown sugar and water. As a bonus, you can use it to sweeten other coffee and tea drinks.
  • Or you can add a little brown sugar and warm water to the cocktail shaker and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Do this before you add the ice, though.
  • Starbucks Insider Tip Starbucks makes this coffee-forward drink with half the volume of syrup compared to other drinks. The recipe for a grande actually calls for 4 half-dose pumps of syrup, not 4 full-size pumps.

Step 3: Pour espresso shots over ice and shake in some cinnamon.

Pull fresh espresso shots and pour them into the shaker over the ice. Then, sprinkle on some ground cinnamon powder.

You can also use very strong coffee if you dont have an espresso machine.

Another option is to buy a cold bottle of Starbucks blonde roast iced coffee from your grocery store. Its a 64-ounce bottle.

Step 4: Shake the iced espresso, then pour into drinking cup.

    • Pour in oat milk.

Ways To Customize A Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso At Starbucks

The beauty of Starbucks drinks is that you can customize them in any way you would like so they can fit your expectations. The Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso is no exception here. There are numerous ways to customize the drink depending on what you are going for. But be aware that the taste of the drink will be affected by your choices.

Starting with the flavors, the original recipe requires four pumps of Brown Sugar syrup, but you can reduce or increase the pumps depending on how sweet you want the drink to be. You can also swap the Brown Sugar syrup for any other syrup or sauce available at Starbucks. Adding your preferred sweetener like sugar, honey, or any sweetener option available, is also an option. You can also choose to swap the Oat milk with any other milk or creamer available, whether dairy or non-dairy. You also have the option of increasing or decreasing the amount of ice and espresso shots, depending on how cold and strong, you want your drink to be.

As for the toppings, the original option is a sprinkle of cinnamon powder, however, you can add whipped cream or cold foam to the mix. I tried it with the vanilla sweet cream cold foam once and I thought it was great, maybe a little too sweet for some people. You could also add a drizzle of caramel or mocha, or use the Cinnamon Dolce sprinkles. The choice is yours.

Starbucks Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso: Sizes Nutrition Caffeine & Calories

    What Sizes Are Available

Like other Iced Shaken Espressos at Starbucks, the Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso also comes in three sizes. The smallest size is Tall which is about 12 fl oz, followed by a grande which is 16 fl oz, and finally, a venti which is the largest choice at 24 fl oz.

I always order a Grande, which from my observation is the size that most people go with for this drink. But if it is your first time trying it, maybe start with a Tall size and see how you like it. If you end up becoming a fan and have some extra cash to spend then you can always treat yourself to a venti size once in a while. Bottom line? You can never have too much of this amazing drink.

At the end of the day, I think it depends on what you are looking to get from your drink or the type of diet you follow.
