Making The Iced Mocha
This chocolate iced mocha is made very similarly to the vanilla latte, and you probably already have the main ingredient at home: cocoa powder! Make the simple syrup from the Vanilla recipe above, mix in a tablespoon of cocoa, and youre good to go. Start with an empty cup full of ice, pour your espresso shots overtop, mix in some milk and some chocolate syrup. Super easy!
If you really want to take this iced mocha over the top, you could also use chocolate milk, or even add in a little mint extract to make it an iced peppermint mocha. Amazing combo right?! There are so many ways to get creative with iced coffee!
Will you be trying any of these iced coffee recipes? Which flavour syrup is your favourite?
General Coffee Tips And Precautions
If you are using pre-ground beans it is important to check for the expiry dates as pre grounded beans goes stale very quickly. If you are grinding the whole beans then make sure to read the instructions carefully on the coffee grinder.
- Make sure the quality of water is best for your cup.
- Experts believe that whole coffee beans are a sure shot way to produce the best flavor they last on an average of 10 days, sealed packed in an air tight container while the grounded beans only last a few days.
- Dark roasted beans always give you the best texture. Freshly roasted-dark beans have more active natural components enhancing the taste and quality.
- Burr coffee grinder gives consistency to the coffee grinds. Please grind the coffee beans just before brewing to maintain freshness and taste.
- The Bonavita and TechniVorm coffee makers have been approved by SCAA as best home brewer. These makers beat their competitors by having the ability to achieve optimal heating temperature of around 205 degrees Fahrenheit, ensuring the maximum extraction from the grinds.
- Make sure to clean your coffee maker with lukewarm water and properly dry it before using the next time.
Step : Buy Whole Bean Coffee
When it comes to coffee, its OK to splurge. As Jazmin told us, if you want a good cup of coffee, you need good coffee beans. Thats why Jazmin and Christian buy all of the coffee and espresso beans used at Brew Brew from a Chicago-based, small-batch artisan coffee roaster. If you cant find a local coffee roaster in your area, you can still make high-quality coffee at home by purchasing whole bean coffee and grinding the coffee beans yourself. Why whole bean coffee? Compared to ground coffee, whole bean coffee is fresher and more flavorful.

Learn how to make cafe-worthy coffee drinks at home with copycat coffee recipes from Starbucks & more
With the COVID-19 pandemic, weâve all been spending a ton of time at home, drinking our same old coffee drinks day in and out. Weâre bored, even if we did try out TikTokâs dalgona coffee for a hot minute. Thatâs why we rounded up this list of coffee recipes you can recreate at home whenever you need a little pick-me-up.
You can make a lot of these coffee drinks using ingredients you either have at home or ordered for delivery from Gopuff. What Is Nitro Coffee And How Is It Made
Nitro Coffee is based on a cold brew to which nitrogen is added. This changes the mouthfeel and the taste of the coffee without any further additives. Oftentimes, nitro coffee is served in a small beer glass.
To get the creamy consistency, you have to put the extracted cold brew coffee in a pressure-resistant container and this is then mixed with nitrogen. This works with a suitable hose, so you can gradually add more nitrogen. Finally, the tap comes into play. The whole mixture is poured into a glass through the tap, this makes the nitro coffee creamy and smooth. Similar to the beer, even a topper of foam can be achieved in this way.

How To Make The Best Coffee At Home According To 6 Experts
For coffee lovers, there are few experiences more joyful than visiting a beloved café and enjoying a piping hot cup of godly nectar. But when it costs up to $5 a cup, depending on where you live, trying to recreate that experience at home is one of the easiest sounding ways there is to save a little cash.
Except it nearly never tastes as good, right? Why is that, aside from the fact that its a treat to have something made especially for us by someone else? In an effort to save our sanity and bank accounts, HuffPost went on a mission to find out.
We chatted with six people who would know they have, after all, made coffee a career. They are: Jeremy Lyman, co-founder of Birch Coffee, Michael Phillips, director of coffee culture for Blue Bottle Coffee Company, Naida Lindberg, cafe manager at Verve Coffee Roasters, Todd Carmichael, CEO and co-founder of La Colombe Coffee Roasters, Bailey Manson, education and service program manager at Intelligentsia Coffee and Emily Rosenberg, senior educator at Stumptown Coffee Roasters.
This crew of experts gave us the scoop on how to achieve coffee-shop levels of caffeination from the comfort of your own kitchen.
On some points, like the importance of proper tools, they were widely in agreement. All but one cited the pour over as their method of choice , and they were pretty much on the same page about their distaste for coffee in pod form. But in many cases, their reasonings and their ratios differed.
Youve Got To Find The Perfect Ratio Of Coffee To Water
It seems everyone we spoke to varied slightly when it comes to the gold standard of coffee to water ratios. Carmichael was steadfast in his assessment of one part coffee to 17 parts water for hot coffee and 1:9 for a cold brew. Rosenberg called the industry standard 1:16, while Lindberg said 1:15.
Theyre close enough margins to experiment for yourself, sure, but not precise. Its an interesting notion when you consider how precisely they all agree one should be when measuring coffee.

Can You Make A Latte With Regular Coffee
You can make delicious lattes using regular coffee if you prefer to use this. Its best to use a strong-brewed coffee for the most balanced latte. Brewing coffee with a French press is one of the brewing techniques I recommend.
Although there are multiple ways to make strong coffee, the French press has a unique coffee flavor that works great with the amount of milk used in a latte.
Because the French press is a technique where you steep the coffee ground and hot water, it creates a full-bodied flavor.
Medium roasted and dark roasted coffee beans have a much stronger flavor, which is perfect for this recipe.
How To Make Different Styles Of Coffee At Home
America is the land of Coffee Connoisseurs Almost 150 million people consume 3 cups of Coffee a day. With the advancements in technology, brewing coffee at home with the help of automatic machines has never been more convenient. A drip coffee maker is almost an integral part of every household, office nowadays.
The drip coffee is a trivial appliance to own, and you dont have to go to the coffee shop for your daily jolt. For an espresso beverage though, many coffee lovers would still go to Starbucks, or the local cafe.
Although we dont recommend it, we received a few requests for a guide on how to make espresso-like beverages at home, without an espresso machine.
If you can afford it, the way to go is still the espresso machine. Coffee Brewing Methods has a great guide on how to buy a semiautomatic espresso machine.

Use different kinds of brewed coffee and different flavors of creamer to change it up.
One of my favorite hacks is to use half of one creamer and half of another.

You could even swap out the chocolate syrup for caramel syrup.
Many times I will use half vanilla and half caramel creamer to switch up the flavors!

Step : Invest In A Scale
To brew better coffee at home, Jazmin recommends using a scale. Before becoming a barista, Jazmin measured her coffee at home with a spoon. It doesnt taste the same, she said. She now understands the importance of accurately measuring your coffee. You need to know how much coffee youre going to use in order to make the perfect cup. Having a scale will help you achieve the right strength and balance for you.
At Brew Brew, baristas measure 180 grams of whole bean coffee per carafe. Each carafe makes 12 8 oz. cups. At home, for a 6-cup, automatic drip coffeemaker, Jazmin recommends measuring out 90 grams of whole bean coffee onto a small, inexpensive scale before grinding and brewing.
